All mine are in a WordPerfect file. Over 600 pages of them. LOL In no particular order. I just use the "search" feature to find the one I'm looking for and print out the recipe. Then I have it in my hand when I'm at the grocery store.

I have the printed ones in large 3-ring binders. That way, I can keep everything in the bookcase with the dozens and dozens of cookbooks . I have a very bad addiction to recipes! LOL

I have a bookcase that is just a mess of cookbooks, pages torn from magazines, a couple of recipe boxes, etc. But for my very favorite recipes, I make sure to scan and store in categories and sub-categories on the hard drive. So what if my computer is at the other end of the house? It's important to me not to lose my childhood favorites, those that have been passed down, or shared with me by friends who are no longer here. Once, I lost the BEST dill pickle recipe ever and actually tracked down a former co-worker who had moved out of state to get it again. Sometimes things just happen and the recipe doesn't find it's way back into the recipe box, or someone spills something on it, or whatever. This way I just print one out when I need it. And I do regular backups, so I'm not likely to lose a recipe again.

OMG..I used to print them all until I realized that I would never ever find anything when I needed it. I just save them now in a recipe file on my computer. When it gets to a few hundred in there I burn them onto a cd and start over. Much bettter for me than stacks of papers.

Like Mamatoad, I put the ones I print off in a 3 ring binder under headers like: Salads...Breads...Desserts...Casseroles, etc.

It's been so nice to be able to get my hands on my favorite recipes that way. Some of my older recipes are printed out and filed in a 3x5 recipe box and all of my recipe books are in an entertainment center along with the binder and recipe box. Every thing is kept in one place "finally". :) It took a while to get organized, but now I'm pretty comfortable with the set up and convenience. OH and of course I have a recipe folder in My Documents. It's the one I need to catagorize right now.

I have mine like Moni in Word by categories. I break meat recipes down by pork, beef, chicken, fish. I change the type and font (size 10) and can usually get three recipes on a page. When I have four or five pages I print them, put them in plastic sleeves and have 3-ring binders to put them in. I also printed out all the favorites in my recipe box.

When I try a recipe I take the page out of the sleeve and write comments--like if we liked it, what I changed and what occasion (if any) I made it for. It's fun to read the comments. Sure can tell the mind is going. A couple I don't even remember making.

Works well for me.

Last year I got rid of a couple of hundred cook books, but still have that many more left and then some. The past couple of weeks I've been going through and copying recipes from all my Gooseberry Patch cookbooks. I didn't think I would ever part with them, but I am ready to and my dd and dgd will be getting those. I've been copying the recipes onto 4 x 6 index cards. I keep those in one of those photo storage boxes. I used to keep copied recipes in a three ring binder, but for some reason I quit doing that.

I have a plastic thing that sticks to the inside of my cabinet door. It is for storing recipes I use fairly regularly and also for information that I rarely use, but want on hand when I need it. That would be at which temperature to bake potatoes. I never can remember that and also how much sugar to put into a gallon of iced tea. I use Splenda, but I have some relatives who want sugar, so when they visit I make it that way.
One of the regular recipes I keep stored in the plastic thingie is one you posted Connie. You said at the time that you had never tried it. It is one of Bob's favorites. I really no longer need the recipe, but keep it handy just in case my little bitty memory fails me.

I have the yearly Southern Living Cookbooks and I plan to keep those and a lot that have recipes from individuals in them. Those are my favorites. I also have tons of magazines that I will purge one day, but not now. I don't have time.

Here's the recipe you shared that I use often.

Gravy Baked Pork Chops
4 lean pork chops
¼tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/3 cup water
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 can cr. of chicken or cr. of mushroom soup ( I use the cr. of mushroom )

Sprinkle the chops with salt and pepper; brown in hot grease. Pour off drippings. Pour mixture of water, milk and soup around chops and bake at 350° for 45 minutes or til chops are tender. Stir gravy well. Serves 4

I cook mine in a Nesco Roaster and I usually bake at 275° for a couple of hours. I do that because I can put it in the roaster before taking Anna to her Martial Arts class and it will be ready when we get home. I always tell Bob if he smells something burning to add more water, but to the best of my knowledge he has never had to do that.

My recipes are all in Word Documents. Not printed out.

My favorite recipe books are from Local Organizations because they are area favorites. Things I've had at Potlucks.

I keep all my printed recipes in a magnetic photo album. It makes it easy to put new recipes in and the pages wipe clean if you are messy like me! I just started book #3.

The magnetic paged books are getting harder to find, I got my last one on eBay.
