Let me send Main Man over so you will have someone to talk to. His "jokes" are getting pretty old to me, but they might cheer youup. He thinks he is a stand up Comedian.

Once I had a day surgery Main Man had to help me walk, I wasn't to steady on my feet. He was scared to death and couldn't stand the sight of blood. He called my Daughter to come take care of me. LOL!

I have the worlds best hubby. He allowed me to do the best job ever by being a stay at home Mom to our 3 kids.. It has been almost 40 years and I wouldn't have changed a thing. Yes, we have had some tough times, he was almost killed in a car accident, we lost a son and have lost both sets of parents and each of us a sister. We support each other totally.. I had cancer 15 years ago and without him I don't know what I would have done. He retired almost 2 years ago now and we are having a wondeful time..

Check out what I said on your post with the photos. I broke both bones in my ankle a few years ago, had to have surgery, etc. and Twinkie was wonderful to me. He's a much better nurse (and more sympathetic!) than I am.

Glad he's doing such a good job taking care of you.

I do have to say, bigbaby has the new and improved model.
My first wife, Mary, and I were married for 16 years. She was a SAHM; with 5 kids in 12 years she was a very busy SAHM. Mary always made it look so easy. The cooking, cleaning, shopping, and laundry all were completed while I was at work. She even put cloth diapers on the kids. (Mary was green before it was fashionable.) It was so easy to take for granted all that she did.
Then when the kids ranged in age from 15 to 3 I lost her to ovarian cancer. Reality hit home like a ton of bricks.
A year later bigbaby made our family complete again. I know what it's like to be a single parent; I know how much bigbaby adds to this family. I shudder to think where we'd be without her. I am grateful everyday for her.

Oh how sweet. You two sound like you really appreciate each other. I lost my DH 9 years ago, and I sure miss him. He was so good to me too. I worked more than he did, but he always made dinner, and did the laundry. I'm sorry I only had him for 6 years.

Lets just say, I am glad, Jerry puts up with me.

He came home an hour ago, and just made his own dinner (his preference, thank god) and told me not to worry about not getting anything done today.

I had sort of a pity party today. Nothing felt right, and thus, I pretty well did nothing.

Well, a couple of halmark movies, and a couple of knitted dish rags... but with all the stuff that irks me, that I really should do...

Aw well.

as much as he gives me fits, dh has taken over a few times and run the whole household...first time the kids were 5, 3, and the twins 1...my dad was dying and left him alone, for a week, then he flew with all the kids alone for the funeral...(it was, thanks be, only a hour flight)

and when i had my hyst 2 years ago, he cleaned, washed, cooked, "walked me", and looked for a new job!

My hubster as most of you know lost his arm and the use of his leg in an accident in his mid twenties. He is now approaching 50, and he has no idea that his dare devil left him decades ago.
Last doozey was a tractor roll over that broke his good ankle and left him in the recliner for 8 weeks.
Now I know pay backs are hell, but I am holding out for the big one.

I know he loves me, and I love him right back, but he is one of the toughest patients Texas has ever seen.

At some point, just recently, he has decided he needs to be more hands on in the house cleaning efforts...yea!....
Not so good an idea, he has taken over the kitchen cleaning, and insists on doing everything. Please don't look in my microwave, and lord forbid, keep your eyes on the ceiling for the floors are about to go on strike.

My DH has always been of some help to me when he was home.We were career military,so most times it was the kids and i.We're retired now and empty nesters and he's changed a lot,and more so these last couple of years.He's learned how to cook and does most of it.Thank you cooking shows!!!

These past 5 months he's taken over pretty much everything,as i had a total knee replacement,and then when i was just about done with that healing and therapy,i got hit with Breast Cancer,so now he's nursing me through that and still doing most everything here at the house,including cooking,laundry,the yard & gardens,grocery shopping etc,etc.He also makes sure i don't run out of ice cream,it's medicinal ya know.

This year is the first time in 50 years that he actually had to help me get in and out of the shower after my knee surgery.Then after my mastectomy he had to help me again with taking care of the incision,and at first i didn't even want him to see it,because to me it's ugly,and i told him and the dr that.

They both convinced me(didn't take long) that it was my life or a scar and i opted for the scar.They were/are right!!!

He's definately a keeper.

My DH (who is considering joining KT but he doesn't want to know my screen name so he can guess who I am)is the bestest. Back when we were dating and he worked overnights, he drove 15 miles to my house to watch my 2 youngest kids after working all night. They were sick and couldn't go to day care. My backup day care couldn't take sick kids either. I absolutely had to go to work since it was pay day and I was the only payroll person. My eldest daughter also had to go to work. The kids' loving father refused to watch them. He wasn't working so he was available and lived just a couple of miles away but just threatened to take custody if I couldn't "handle" taking care of the kids. After I came home that day, the kids wanted him to be their daycare! He made spaghetti for them and they told me he was a better cook than I was. The brats! I don't know how many times he took care of them after we were together when they were sick. Took them to the doctor, etc. He is so good to all of us.

When I had pneumonia recently, Jody not only helped me back and forth to the bathroom, brought me food in bed, fed my animals, but also bathed me.

He is the most unselfish, generous person I have ever known. Add to that he is extremely kind hearted to animals...an absolute must for me. Anything I am interested in, he helps me do. Married almost 43 years...have known him 50 years. I don't have any idea what I would do without him. I don't think I could go on.
