On PBS. Last Tango in Halifax. Starring Derek Jacobi and the gal who plays the cook on Downton Abbey. Cute love story of two oldsters reunited after 60 years who find the fires of unrequited love still burning for each other.

Hi Guys Just a note of caution regarding the use of straw in No dig gardens...the quality of soil produced from decomposed organic matter is related to the qhality of the organic matter it is sourced from when plants (say a grain such as oats) reaches maturity it will begin to extract the nutrients in the leaves and stem and transfer these nutrients into the developing seeds If the farmer then comes along and cuts these seeds and sells you the resulting stems then you get poor nutrients and this can cause deficiencies in your soil On the other hand if you are using hay yoju get the seeds as well and as such you get the "wholefood" so to speak...you actually get all the nutrients the plant ever had Sure some "Gardening Gurus" will tell you to..."Never use hay because you get a lot of weed seeds") but if you are mulching over your mulch...as is the no dig method then you just mulch these "weeds" down...or harvest them for breakfast and you get a really good soil building up I would never buy straw because for the same cost (or cheaper) you can get spoiled hay But that is just my opinion on this and I rarely ever buy any mulch at all...preferring to grow my own...its even cheaper...of course there are times (especially when creating a new garden) I would like to get some feedback on the above comments...especially from those who disagree cheers Peter

Well, I recently lucked out into a second one of these plants. Recognized it immediately & scooped it up for a song. The person who donated it brought it out in the cold & I think it got a bit frosty, they didn't think abt the cold, 30ish. Foliage seemed a bit damaged. Well a month later, was looking OK like it might be fine. It was on a table w/ other plants, where I sit & quilt w/ my sewing machine. Sometime later I look up & it's been decapitated -- ACKKKKK!!! I was so intent on pushing this quilt thru the machine I completely missed what happened. Could have been an hour later or a day later, who knows. It was beautifully shaped w/ a caudex, which my 1st one doesn't have, Man, oh man, I almost cried, look at this poor thing. I even tried to water root the broken off stem tip of foliage but it was too short a stem to support in water. Am trying to will the thing to regrow.

I saw this a month ago when I was browsing. I would love to have one in my native species only MAGA garden. Sadly, with the sticker price so high I wouldn't be able to build my huge garden wall this year unless I could somehow get my neighbor to pay for it.....

Lovely, one of my favorites for fragrance and form too, purilisa. Here are a few others of mine. I have quite a few new roses that would probably make this list, don't know enough about how they will do yet, although Granada looks very promising so far. All the pictures with the exception of Tiffany, Firefighter, and Beverly are from previous years. Not my best year for Beauty of bloom, but they are improving! My PBS station has shown two episodes and I have enjoyed them. I love Downton and have not recognized the woman being from that show. I'll look closer on Sunday.

Delightful is the right word to describe this series. I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Anne Reid plays the role of Celia, the widow in Last Tango. She's had a long career on Brit TV shows. She wasn't in Downton Abbey but she was Mrs. Thackery, the cook in the 2012 edition of Upstairs Downstairs.

I saw the second episode and must remember to look for the first one online before the third comes on. Hope I can get it as I enjoyed the show very much.

We recording and watching. Just saw the first installment.

Also watching "Broadchurch" and "Silk" and recording "Foyle".

THANKS for 'placing' Anne Reid for as the cook in Up+Down. We watch so many of these shows and see so many familiar faces in each one. Some actors must never be without work in the UK.
