I hate all sports and don't watch any of them willingly. Now if the question was what sports are often shown on the TV in my home the answer would be baseball, golf, basketball & football. What is your favorite drink? Water, Lipton tea Have you ever dyed your hair? I've been paying someone else to dye or highlight it for years. I have never attempted to do it myself. I have helped my sisters dye their hair. Hey, if I mess it up it's not my head! Favorite food? I love many things (fruit, veggies, breads) but if I had to pick a last meal it would be Silician pizza from a specific local place. What is the last movie you watched? Angels & Demons. We were on vacation & it was rainy so we went to a movie, which is a little unusual for us. We might go to see 6-8 movies a year so it's funny that I have a just released movie to name. We have never rented a video for no specific reason. I guess because DH is usually watching sports and I'd rather read. Favorite days of the year? Any sunny, warm day. How do you vent anger? I guess it depends on what is causing the anger...nothing too dramatic but maybe my DH would have another opinion on this. What was your favorite toy as a child? I had one Barbie - this was back in the day you had one doll & multiple clothes. My friends with daughters tell me now-a-days girls will have multiple Barbies. I knew a family with 3 girls and they had 65 Barbies! The Mom said it was because they were rather cheap so for birthday gifts people would just buy them another doll & not just an outfit. And she, the mother, used to spend an hour a week redressing the dolls because she couldn't stand to see a pile of naked Barbies on the floor. To each his own, I guess. What is your favorite season? What is on the floor of your closet? Shoes, relatively neatly arranged. And a box of baking soda to absorb stale odors. What did you do last night? Went to a wine tasting party. We all drew a country out of hat and brought wine & appetizer from our country. I had Germany so I bought a Riesling (named Way Kuhl - it was very tasty) and Tilsit cheese, pretzel rolls from Wegman's & German chocolate cake (I cheated and used a box mix for the cake but homemade frosting). What are you most afraid of? Something harmful happening to a family member, global diasters, and snakes (I'm still kinda freaked after opening a recent posting on the other side a week or so ago. Yikes, I was not expecting that...I thought maybe a garden gnome or fountain. But no hard feelings. It's my phobia, not your problem). Favorite dog breed? Never had a dog myself so no favorite. Thru family members I've been exposed to Goldens, Labs & an Australian Cattle dog, which were all very nice dogs. Favorite day of the week? I have little interest in jewelry so 3 years ago when a necklace caught my eye my DH said we should buy it for your anniversary present. Coincidently, it has 13 diamonds and it was my 13th anniversary - it must have been fate. He, in turn, had an ice cream from Cold Stone creamery as his present. Everyone left the mall happy. Fashion or comfort? Comfort, but I don't believe in wearing sweat clothes unless I'm going to, at, or returning from the gym.

Ok,ok!!!!(Notice my red face???:) I have been a lurker for a while and feel I know a lot of you. Just want to express my appreciation for letting me get to know many of you. You are my door to my restless spirit when I want to get out of my den near the Hudson Bay. Yes, I am Canadian living in Manitoba. I am also a grandma in my early sixties with a husband that has retired although he does keep somewhat busy around the house. I may not post often but sure enjoy learning about the world from the view of the kitchen table.

My name is Sally. I live in Lancaster County Pa and - no - I am not Amish. LOL I have 5 sisters and 29 nieces and nephews. I do not have any children, but love my 3 cats as if they were... I have lived in this area all my life and love it. I have been very fortunate in life to have a loving, stable family unit, with very little tragedy to speak of. I am divorced, but we remain very friendly... My SO is a Marine (not currently active) and very proud of it. ( a combat veteran is a whole different breed...) I work for a fantastic company and my job as a sales rep keeps me traveling quite a bit to the southeast US. I like it for the most part, but being alone so much can get old... My home is my cozy sanctuary to unwind. I love to tend to my herb garden and perennials. I bought my first sewing machine last fall, so I am enjoying learning how to use it. I love to tackle almost any project whether it's building a shed, making beef wellington or changing the oil in my truck. I probably own more tools than a lot of men I know... I am a redneck at heart, but clean up pretty good when I need to...

Hi Lulie! Glad to get to know you. First, so sorry about your tragedy. I give you credit, first for being so honest about it and also for going on living your life to the fullest (like I'm sure Christin would have wanted you to). Well, I live in Lapeer Michigan, recently moving here to a house with almost 3 acres. I have been married to a great guy for almost 7 years now. I knew the minute i met him he was the one! We met in our mid 30s so I think the timing was perfect for us both. Unfortunatey we never had children, but we have 4 dogs and tons of fish! My dogs are like my "kids". I wish I could have 100. I do love kids, but I guess it wasn't in the cards for us. I started painting 2-3 years ago - just playing around with free-hand stuff, then got into faux finishing, which i still love. I did some tole but now do mostly the One Stroke technique. I love to paint, any style - I find it relaxing, like you said, an hour seems like 5 minutes. I also have a part time job as a medical transcriptionist. I'm lucky enough to be able do to the job from my home. Many days though I dream of hurrying up and finishing my work and getting down to the basement and painting the rest of the day! It usually doesn't work that way tho :( . I'm usually too tired to do both! I do my best work fresh and early in the morning (either typing or painting!) Well, I better let someone else talk now.
