If she gives you her name as she is listed on Facebook, plus her location (such as Ann Jones Smith of Downers Grove, IL) you can find everyone with her name and then limit it to people with that name and location.

Go to your homepage (or whatever they call it --the page that has 'your' personal information not your friend's updates). Copy that link for her, or she can copy her link for you. Your name and probably a number will be part of the link. If you don't have your settings set too privately hopefully that should work.

if you are both emailing why not just have an email sent inviting you to join her?

I am not on facebook but I sure get a ton of emails inviting me to so and so's facebook so it must be pretty easy to do.

Search by email address that is associated with the FB account.
