I still feel like I'm behind, though. Probably mostly because I SERIOUSLY cut back on my container count this year. I might have 40-50 perennials out there, and another 24 maybe in other stuff. My usual count is somewhere between 200-400+ I want to do a sale, but iffy on whether or not to do it; people are finicky...I did "ok" last year, but ignorant people snubbed their noses at the small (but full) containers of seedlings (3.50 per jug with up to hundreds of seedlings in it). Ok, so what should I do then? Have my sale in July when everyone's nursery plants are starting to fail miserably? Should I charge 10x as much in July as I would have in May/June in the seedling stage and charge them 3.50 for ONE rud or ONE petunia? (rolleyes). I really don't WANT to babysit containers until July...it's bad enough that I might not get all of my OWN planted out by then, but to have to make SURE that containers don't die...well, mid-July I'm off on other ventures...and when they're MINE..."I'll get to it, or I won't" and either way works. My veggie patch is still under construction (I build borderless raised beds); my onions will be here any day now... I feel like having ordered my toms so late that even a week in April is a lot of wasted germination time. I have mosaic projects not started or finished that I've committed myself to (another forum)...I just feel like I'm not getting anything done and time's a wastin' Maybe I'm just usually "early" and have everything out by now and this "lateness" that I'm feeling really isn't at all.

I wish somebody COULD return me to the upright position right now, Dafy! IÂve been off for a week with the flu! Apparently while I was sitting down here in the sterile earth air, I lost my resistance to the plethora of germs and viruses that are omnipresent in airplane air! This too shall pass! I am starting to feel a little bit better again, but I think itÂs still gonna be a few days before I can stay in the upright position well enough to go back to workÂespecially since I now need to be super-duper-double-sure my head doesnÂt violently impact anymore airplanes! THATÂS the part I want to be doing! Steve, if I ever happen to get a layover there, it would be wonderful if you were able to bring some of the Lavatera to the hotel. I never did get any to germinate, but I still have seed left and will probably try again this winter if I donÂt get one by then. We rarely get long enough layovers to go to a downtown hotel anymore, so it would very likely be an airport hotelÂsince IÂve been off, I donÂt know which one weÂre staying at right now. The airlines don't care about your comfort. Although you think you are purchasing a SEAT, you are not. You are purchasing the transportation from point A to point B. The reason why airlines don't have policies regarding obese people is because obese people have money too. Where will it end? Who will be the next pariah to ban? I have experienced many uncomfortable situations on an airplane that I could have very well complained about. Like the guy next to me picking his boogers and rubbing them on his pants. Like the tall guy in front of me who reclined his seat all the way and picked at the scabs on his bald head the entire time. Like the family with a screaming, kicking child behind me. Like the guy next to me watching porn on his Ipad. Like the lady next to me who's perfume application made me nauseous. Or the person somewhere on the plane with such bad body odor the entire plane stunk. If I purchase a seat, I shouldn't have to be subjected to any of these things that make me uncomfortable, right? But, whether you like it or not, we are all subjected to a social contract. We all have to put up with each others failings and that just so happens to make us uncomfortable on occasion. Of course it's not fair and makes us angry. That's a normal, natural feelings. But let me say again - how about a little compassion? How about a little less disgust for our fellow human beings? Being the mother of a DD that was a difficult child, I am going to agree with Paula. Don't assume that because you spend a few hours of your life with a child whose behavior is less than stellar, that it stems from poor parenting. I'm sure that everyone here has crossed paths with a BRAT sometime in their lives. But every child that has a bad day is not a brat. Who can expect a child to sit still for hours on end, with or without activities to do? 2 of my 3 MIGHT have appeared to me to be pleasant to travel with. DD, not so much. Would you really not expect me to take her shopping, to not travel, to not go to the park or attend a ball game just because she might be whiny and difficult? Because I can guarantee you that during one of those 4 activities we would not have had an easy time. Those of you that have flown with your children... are you absolutely certain that your children stood up to the test of not being an annoyance to your traveling companions? Oh come on! A child -can not- help but to be bumping the seat in front of them. Or to talk non stop. To have to go to the potty every 30 minutes. Or wanting something to eat or drink every little while. And whine when mom is quietly trying to get them to sit still and be quiet. Children are part of society. On the other hand.... I was putting groceries in my car the other day and heard a screaming woman from clear across the other side of the parking lot yelling at her child to get his a** in the car. She screamed at the kid the entire time I was putting the groceries in the car. It made me so sad but I"m not willing to give her the benefit of the doubt that she was just having a bad day. Bad day or not, what kind of adult acts like that? What kind of adult will that child grow up to be? So sad. That woman is a part of society.
