Another railroad bridge. The Tunkhannock Viaduct in PA goes above the town of Nicholson. It was built in 1912 and is 2375 feet long. An awesome sight that is suddenly looming overhead as you come out of a curve on Route 11 heading into town.

Taken on vacation in June. My sister in Maine fixed us a WONDERFUL lobster meal! I had tried lobster several times and didn't think I liked it, but this was so yummy!

Gazania, what a great shot. That really is an awesome bridge. I've seen it a number of times. There's not much else in that area except pretty hills, etc., and then all of a sudden this gorgeous structure.

Before I started working on my dad's pictures, I thought I'd ignore the ones of people I didn't know. But I find many of them so interesting . . . the way they dressed back then, their surroundings, the things they were doing. Here's an example. I can tell from another shot of this group that they were having a picnic. (Plates and cups were lined up on the edge of the stone wall.) Their picnic attire doesn't look like anything we'd wear today. (Heels in the woods?) And why, for heaven's sake, are the two older people smoking? They seem to be doing it just for the picture. Or maybe not. I suspect there could be lots of interpretations of this shot. But for whatever reason, I found it amusing.

I fed hummingbirds from my hand this summer...what a thrill!

How thrilling Wanda. I'd love to do that. I'm sure it takes a lot of patients.

Wanda, that's wonderful!!! I hand-tamed the winter birds many years ago (can't do it now because of Raynaud's), but never the hummers. I can just imagine how it feels......

I'm not really sure Marigene. My neighbor thought it might be a Great Spangled...but, we're not sure. Gonna go get her butterfly guide and check it out.....
