Yes, I own one. A few years ago I used it so much it should have been worn out. When my work schedule overtook every outside activity in my life I quit sewing. Maybe one day I will get back to doing it again, who knows.

Yes, I mainly use it to sew my quilt tops. DH uses it more than I do. He mends his clothes, I throw mine away when in need of mending.

I have one, plus a serger. These days they are used only for sewing quilt tops for our church group; I used to sew a LOT, and my daughters also sewed when they wanted new clothes. In fact, they all started out on the old workhorse of a treadle machine.

Yes, I have sewed for some 50 years.. I have been hot and cold over the years. I sewed alot when my daughters were young. Sewed and sold craft items for several years. Now I just do it for fun. I have 3 grandaughters and love sewing for them. My daughter often ask for something that I made for them when they were small. I am working on pj's for all of them now. Last Christmas I made all the little girls in my hubbies family dolly blankets and had their name monogramed on them. So much fun.

Yes, I do. I've had a sewing machine sinec I was 10. My first one was a portable Singer, my second one a Kenmore, and my current one a Husqvarna. I use it quite often, making home decor items like tablecloths, runners, pillow shams, duvet covers, futon covers, curtains, fitted slipcovers and pillows.

I have a portable Singer sewing machine that I bought in 1971 in order to make my wedding dress. It was plain jane, simple pattern with almost no trimmings. I've used it lots over the years & yes, it weighs a ton, probably 40 lbs. I've thought a lot about replacing it with one of the newer light weight machines but I just can't bring myself to get rid of this one. Over the next couple of weeks, I'll be using it to make about 25 placemat purses. It was used most recently about 10 days ago to do some mending. Been thinking about Christmas gifts but have no idea what I want to make.

DH also bought me a computerized serger that I have no idea how to use. (He thought it was a sewing machine!) He bought it from a friend who inherited it; never used. It looks expensive, so I don't want to throw it away.

This is a picture of my umbrella cover I made it for my old umbrella but since got a new umbrella set. I get those net gazebos from Home Trends. They slip over an open umbrell and make a bug free room for the porch (with zipper closure) The reason this cover is over the real umbrella (the net slips ove the umbrella) is because the cat next door will jump on the umbrella trying to get thru the net to get in the enclusure. This keeps him from tearing the net.

Yes, I do. I asked DH for it as a Christmas gift a few years ago. My mom taught me as a girl. I didn't want to lose what I know, I would like to teach DD.

I only use it a few times a year. Maybe to mend something, or make a costume, or sometimes I get crafty and just want to make something because I can. Last year I made DS's nap for for kindergarten just because I can. Turned out darn good, if I do say so. I have just promised to sew together the quilt squares for something DD's teacher is having the class do.

the gazebo is really for my cat Mommy. I can put her out there (she loves it) and not worry about her wandering the neighborhood etc!!

Yes, I do have a sewing machine along an computerized embroidery machine
but I have not used neither of them for a several years. I plan on hitting both

I bought my first sewing machine when I got out of high school (I made ALL of my clothes then.) I think it cost about $59 and I had to make payments on it for about a year.

Yes - it's sitting on the floor about7 feet away.

It was in our home for several years ... then Sue took it with her when she chose to live on her own.

She died just over four years ago.

Now it's here - the kids can have it whenever they want it. In the meantime ... I can use it. I have, a couple of times. May do some more, this winter: bought some denim a few months ago (on sale, of course!).
