Who knew jellyfish could look almost as pretty as a flower?

Growing up on the beaches of So. Cal., I remember feeling creepy and grossed out anytime seaweed wrapped around my leg. Ewww! Somehow it doesn't look so bad here. :)

lydia, this was my first time to raise the monarchs. You need to plant a butterfly weed or milkweed plant. That is the only plant they eat and lay their eggs ons. This is the first year that I noticed the monarch cats on mine and they were covered with it. So I put them in this little container with butterfly weeds leaves. You must put new leaves in every day, they eat like little piggys. After about 10 days, they spin a cocoon, then in around 7-10 days they turn into a butterfly. It takes them several hours to dry their wings before they can be released. Its a thrill and I am sure glad that I tried it.

Vicki, mountain top views for me are always breathtaking and especially so in your pic today. In fact all of the pics above are breathtaking in their own way. I always look forward to seeing what everyone else thinks deserving of being seen by others. And they are right every time! Somewhere on a trail in the UP of Michigan. Such 'character' in that little wooden bridge.

It's amazing how something so pretty can cause so much pain.

I stole this from my granddaughter, who took it while visiting the Baltimore Aquarium. Although I never wanted to encounter them while swimming, jellyfish are among the most beautiful creatures in the animal kingdom.

Wow!!! Nature is truly breathtaking, albeit dangerous...

BigAck, I don't recall seeing that picture. What's the story behind it? It's hilarious.

What Jasdip said and wow!

And just what is the story with the penguins? I don't remember. So darn cute!

It was some program I used to put the penguins in the pic. Been so long I don't remember which one!
