lydia, this was my first time to raise the monarchs. You need to plant a butterfly weed or milkweed plant. That is the only plant they eat and lay their eggs ons. This is the first year that I noticed the monarch cats on mine and they were covered with it. So I put them in this little container with butterfly weeds leaves. You must put new leaves in every day, they eat like little piggys. After about 10 days, they spin a cocoon, then in around 7-10 days they turn into a butterfly. It takes them several hours to dry their wings before they can be released. Its a thrill and I am sure glad that I tried it.

Vicki, mountain top views for me are always breathtaking and especially so in your pic today. In fact all of the pics above are breathtaking in their own way. I always look forward to seeing what everyone else thinks deserving of being seen by others. And they are right every time! Somewhere on a trail in the UP of Michigan. Such 'character' in that little wooden bridge.

Mabel (Caryn's (DD) chicken pet chicken) (unfortunatly, someone's dog was loose and killed (scared 2 of them to death, and played with the other 3) all 5 of them this spring. Caryn is hoping to get 4 more next month.

A Peter Toth carving in Punta Gorda Florida ...just 1 of his state by state (and a lot of Canada) tributes to the American Indian.
