Thinking about my garden helps me fall asleep. I can take a walk and see every plant in place. I doubt i'm always accurate because I move them so much. This isn't very surprising, really. If I have a few minutes before work I take a walk. I always, always take a garden tour even before going the house after work. All my work clothes have stains, and my shoes are a mess.

My dreams are mostly random thoughts jammed together into some sort of incoherent story line, and after I awake, most of them do not make any sense. When my sister and I were children, at one period, we'd discuss our dreams with each other. Mostly, we would try to determine if we had dreamed in color or black-and-white. It seems that many of our dreams were in shades of gray like a photo. Then we experimented seeing if we could influence the color of our dreams. We found that if we went to sleep while making a conscience effort to dream in color, more of our dreams would be in color. It was a wish on our part to have colorful dreams. That was a long time ago. All the recent dreams that I can remember have been in true color. I find it difficult to remember a dream a few minutes after becomming fully awake unless it was an earth shattering dream or nightmare. I do remember a nightmare that I had many years ago, and its memory has not faded. I was a senior in college and had just finished exam week on Friday. Graduation was the following weekend. My parents were comming to the graduation ceremony and then we were to say our goodbyes as I was taking off immediately to a new job and career to begin the Monday following graduation. I opted to stay in the Dorm for the week between the final exams and graduation. I had planned to relax and tidy up my affairs in an unhurried manner. And then, the nightmare came early Saturday morning after the close of finals. I dreamed that I had forgotten to attend a minor class for the last half of the semester and had forgotten to show for the finals. My life was in ruins. Although it was minor class, the credits were needed for graduation. I was working my way through college and had taken a NDEA loan so that I could put two semesters together and finish my senior year. At 4am in the morning, I awoke in a cold sweat and could not shake the feeling that the dream was true. I turned on a lamp and checked my class schedule - there was no mention of any class of that name on the schedule, but the nightmare had been so real that I could not shake the idea that somehow I had messed up. It ruined a good nights sleep; I could not fall back into a good sleep, but only dosed and tossed and turned. I began Saturday bleary eyed and I could not shake the thought that somehow, I had blown a class. It was awful. At other times, my dreams are about solutions to problems that I may have been actively tusseling with, or had been on my unconscience mind. On awaking, most of the time these "solutions" were absurd and laughable, but on a few occasions, the ideas in the dream were helpful and got me to think 'outside of the box'.

Reason Season Lifetime People always come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do. When someone is in your life for a REASON, It is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, Or to provide you with guidance and support, To aid you physically, emotionally, or even spiritually. They may seem like a godsend to you, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, This person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they just walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on. When people come into your life for a SEASON, It is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season. And like Spring turns to Summer and Summer to Fall, The season eventually ends. LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; Those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person anyway; And put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas in your life. You know, Ken, I was sure I'd seen dimensions on there before. But all week when I looked up plants I couldn't find any. I was thinking, "sure, photos are nice, but I really need a bit MORE than that," (grumble, grumble) . I found the link now, thanks. Some of the listings don’t give enough detail. Thanks for the additional information, Bernd and Donna. I now know that at 48" wide, I can’t put them where I’d planned. I may dig up a large Frances Williams and put one there, which would be near a young Elegans and a 3+ year old Blue Angel. I was reading here (while dodging doing actual work in the yard) that some sun is needed to show best color, and it is bright there, though direct sun is brief. Then, no idea where the other should go…original plan was to put both in a different, symmetrical bed.
