Surprise - another new little one

Hi all - just had to share!

Total surprise here - my nephew and his wife had their first this morning - a soooo pretty little girl. She wasn't due until late September but just like my other niece in January, couldn't wait. Mom was at her baby shower and had to leave to go the hospital. Talk about a surprise. BTW, she's very healthy and Mom and Dad are fine.

Hey Nev, I picked up an interesting little plant that reminded me of yours (at least the leaves). Oddly, or surprising to me at least, it is labeled orlandiana x recurvata. I would never guess that there was any orlandiana in this plant. To help compare, I'll post some pictures on your original post... -andy

Son is slowly getting used to be away from the woman he fell in love with 1 year ago and who pulled him out of a lot of dark places and moments. Who cares if HIS buddies see me ha ha ha ha ha oh my gosh I better watch these Videos ha ha ha ha Karyn I think each age level has it's ups and down's. What a pretty cat Caramel is. A soft tawny color with white. I've not seen many with that delicate coloring. Of course Little Boy is precious as are all strippers (mine included)...Oh Yeh, the daylily. It's pretty too. I love the color combo.......Maryl

Few welcomed little surprises

Just noticed flower buds on few of my jades - Crassula ovata. Josh pointed out few times that plants need to be mature plants - do not have to be big just mature. That is what mine with buds are. All plants started as cuttings (and further cuttings from original cuttings or grew from fallen leaves) from the same plant (that I, sadly, killed by overwatering) - it was older and quite large and bloomed for me couple of times. These are the first time flowering, and are possibly 5 (?) yrs 'old' - the original plant they came from was much older: They were brought in about 2.5 weeks ago and not watered yet. They are kept for now in space with temps dropping down to about 40-45*F at night. Does anyone know if they should stay where they are or should be brought to the living space where it is warmer? And I am not sure if they should be watered more often or not while blooming (in warmer temps).

What a happy shower! How much does she weigh? Do you think they miscalculated the due date?

We still wonder about that with our early DGS, who weighed as if he were full term, so we always wondered if the due date was wrong.

Congratulations. Hope Momma has things prepared at home!

Thanks all - Still trying to find out a bunch of stuff; name, weight, etc., but all of that hasn't leaked out yet. Guess it was sooooo unexpected. I wonder about the timing too, but it appears that she is an early bird - the same with my other niece who was born in January (due mid March). My other nephew is home - unemployed and being a stay-at-home-dad to 2, for now, is helping the new Dad pull things together. Mom and Baby will probably be home by the weekend so they don't have a lot of time. This is so funny because the guys are taking care of everything - with one 8mos old and a 2yr old, in tow. I wish I could record all of that! Gotta love it though.

Comgratulations, glad Mom and Baby are doing well, hope they get home soon. Be sure to tell us name, height,weight, coloring.
