I have been working at finding away to change the default font on all documents since this thread started. No matter what I clicked on the starter version came up so I thought that might be my problem. I finally uninstalled MS Office Starter and MS Office Student and Home, then just reinstalled the student and home. I still could not get the font style to stay at what I set it. I thought about what was said about the 2003 version and opened a blank page, set the font and single space, went to file and chose "save as". A menu came up and I chose to saveto my desktop as MS Word 97-2003 Template (.dot) and made a shortcut, so far it has held. In case some else is still having this problem I am posting my results. None of the other ways worked for me, a new document always came up with Office's default settings.

Thanks ladies. I decided--it doesn't MATTER if he *gets it* or not. I cannot make him understand my feelings on the matter, all I can do is decide what I am comfortable with--draw and enforce my own boundaries. I am responsible for SS after school on ALL of DH's custodial days---every Wed, Thurs and every other Friday. I know this and I am FINE with it, even enjoy it. BM knows her own days and this is her issue. SHE can decide all by herself if going to Parent Night is important enough to drive back and forth or not. That is her choice. DH is not angry with me or anything, he seems to respect my decision, even though I can tell he doesn't understand. "And I know you don't mind having SS with you... and that's where they got you. It doesn't matter what BM thinks or doesn't think.I care about SS and she knows that, and so does DH, but caring does NOT equal being a doormat. As far as I'm concerned, SHE needs to take me out of the equation. No more of her asking "Can Love do it?" She is welcome to ask DH for a favor anytime she wants, but if HE says no, that's the end of the line. Parent---grandparents are not an option. DH's parents are not in town and BM's parents are just NOt grandparent-ly, helpful types. They just do not do that kind of stuff---ie, helping out with the grandkids. "

Amazon Prime members have unlimited free online photo storage. If computer files are personally or business like priceless, you should at least save a copy online or to some other offsite location. I watched my next door neighbors concrete block home burn completely in probably about 30 minutes one windy night. Cost me a $250 water bill that month mostly in garden hose water to keep my house cool.. watched my fence and some bushes spontaneously combust - now you seem them, poof, now you don't.
