How to put a Word document into Google Drive

I completely forget how to get a lengthy Word document into Google Documents on Google Drive. I thought it could be dragged there, but I don't see how.

I don't know anything about Google Documents so this may be a dumb question. Can you copy and paste?

I don't know anything about Google Drive. Does it have a file size limit? If so, before you attempt to copy a file into Google Drive, compare your file size to the Google file limit. There's no point in trying to copy a flie that is larger than the limit. Otherwise, I think that copy and paste should work with one caveat; Your computer's memory space. Open windows and applications occupy space in
RAM (random access memory) ; The remaining space is available for operations such as copy and paste.

Tip: If you have a large text file open in MSWord, you can choose (highlight) the entire file by pressing CTRL-A.

CONSERVATION is another good reason to root rosebushes. Just a few years ago the American Rose Society was going to claim that the Pernetiana named "Ambassador" was extinct, so that the name could be used again, when Phillip Robinson contacted them to say that it was not. Spacing off on WORD document

I have been working at finding away to change the default font on all documents since this thread started. No matter what I clicked on the starter version came up so I thought that might be my problem. I finally uninstalled MS Office Starter and MS Office Student and Home, then just reinstalled the student and home. I still could not get the font style to stay at what I set it. I thought about what was said about the 2003 version and opened a blank page, set the font and single space, went to file and chose "save as". A menu came up and I chose to saveto my desktop as MS Word 97-2003 Template (.dot) and made a shortcut, so far it has held. In case some else is still having this problem I am posting my results. None of the other ways worked for me, a new document always came up with Office's default settings.

Lou, You may be able to recover your file (or an older version) by using an undelete programme. Ideally you should save any recovered file onto another drive. (This prevents the recovered file from overwriting and corrupting the original one if it tries to use the same place on the drive.) As a last resort if you haven't got another drive (or USB thumb drive or CD writer) and, providing that you drive isn't too full, then you could just try to recover it to a temporary folder. There is usually a fair chance that you can recover the file. You are more likely to be able to recover a file if the computer isn't used too often between losing the file and trying to recover it. Insert the disk into the drive. Go to the Control Panel. Find the drive, right click and Format the disk. Then you can drag & drop the file onto the disk.

Thanks Jodi, that's what I was looking for.

JemDandy, I do Ctrl A and C and V all the time. This was 30 pages of word and diagrams and it just didn't copy right.
