OMG, did I write this: like blinkers on a horse???? BLINDERS on a horse. My excuse: I typed this out 3 times--I kept losing it (deleted it from the pasteboard bcs I didn't know how the buttons work; kicked the power strip and turned the machine off). It's a typo; same finger, different hand. Thanks, all! There's still more that can come out; one of those boxes has out-of-season clothes in it for DD, and I know that not a one of them will fit her. But I put my blinDers back on, and put it on the shelf. I can only tackle so much at a time, and I had a deadline. i think I may get to those clothes before month's end.

Another view...we've used self adhesive carpet film a lot and it does work well for these situations. You can just use a brush to try to get behind it, but inevitbly you will either get paint on the carpet or miss a spot on the baseboards. I find that if you lay out the carpet film so that its still loose on the carpet and the side nearest the wall is touching the baseboard, you can then push down and "tuck" the film under the baseboard. This way, you have th best of both worlds -- a complete barier for the bcarpet and since it tucks under, you can paint very quickly . hope this helps! You are all so kind. A couple of answers... 2 days to pack, actually we had 2 50 foot storage truck containers on our property for the last 3 years. Thats where most of our stuff had been. (They are the units that were broken into by one of the subs guys and my heirloom silver was all stolen. Amazingly, I got everything back. Long story.) No case against anyone. Times are hard for builders & most of them have no money or resources. We did file a complaint against our builder, but we are one of many in line. His license is suspended as of right now. My husband & I had to decide that we would move in without bitterness about what had been our life for the last 3 years. We have paid a great deal for this home to be right & in all truthfulness it should have been handed to us complete & finished. But it isn't, so what are we going to do about it? Well, for us the bottom line...,we have a life to live, children to raise, and a marriage to sustain. None of these things will be served well if we hold on to anger & resentment. We lost a ton of money, we had great stress, we had huge amounts of worry. However today we sit, walk, live, rejoice, fellowship in a home I dare say is stunning. Who am I to complain about anything? I have so much that I am thankful for every minute of my life that there is no room for anything else. My arms are full, my heart is at peace. We have nothing we want to battle for. One thing I think about our obligation to each other is that we somehow learn along our individual journeys that our intersections with others is meant to nurture and to serve the common and also the specific good. How can we embrace that discarded as trash and turn it into glory? "Find the good and praise it!" was Alex Haley's motto that I've embraced though sometimes I've thought about it in my modification as "Find the good and raise it!"
