never acquired a taste for it...

I like to cook with it...especially biscuits and dumplings. Also dip onions in it to make onion rings, but I don't drink it. I don't drink any milk and haven't since I was a child.

My dad always enjoyed a tall glass of buttermilk with warm cornbread crumbled in it.

I have tried to drink it, but just not a favorite on my list.

I like to drink it & to cook with it.

I can handle buttermilk, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc much better than I can handle actual milk.

Not as a drink, but I do bake with it often.

Yes - I drink - bloody caesar's are my fave.

I love buttermilk.....but I quit drinking it.
I was addicted and it has too much sodium and fat for my heart healthy

I love buttermilk; especially with course ground black pepper in it.

Back in the day Grandma would treat me with the real deal - a glassful of the by-product from raw, clabbered, milk that had been churned into butter. I'd love to get my hands on some now!

Never had it and don't want it. But my dad loved it as a treat. I do like to bake with it. It makes moist cakes.

I am not a picky eater at all but I cannot stand to drink buttermilk! I use it for Ranch Dressing. I freeze it up in ice cubes and keep them on hand. When I need a couple for the dressing, I put them in a cup and microwave it for about 30 seconds.

Tried it onceâ¦.thought it was awful! I do use it for baking.

I can't get past the thought of what it sounds like-it might-taste like. So I haven't even tried it.

Can't stand to drink it, but use it frequently in dressings, marinades, pancakes, and baking. Almost always have some in the fridge.

Erggggg. My grandmother gave me a glass of it back when I was a little kid. I couldn't choke it down, it was awful. (Maybe it was bad?) I won't even try it, now.

I love it! But I need it to be very cold. My grandparents lived in a retirement village and whenever I ate in the dining room with them I always orderd a small buttermilk as a treat. Nowadays, I'll buy a quart once or twice a year and I gulp it down. Love that stuff!

To my way of thinking, cold buttermilk for a drink is so refreshing, I love it. Love to cook with it too.

I decided I would learn to like buttermilk. I don't drink it often. I do cook with it. The full fat version tastes better than that low fat junk.

Funny story. When Heather was little we were in Ireland visiting relatives. She wanted some milk. I poured her a glass and she refused to drink it. It didn't taste good. Took me awhile to realize I had poured buttermilk!

Now I'm thirsty for buttermilk, it's been a long time since I had any and I do like it. Most of our shopping is Aldi and I've never seen it there. A funny: My father had numerous heart attacks before he passed away and when he was recuperating that was the only time he had the urge for buttermilk.

Caroline, Mother use to make rich-fat buttermilk. She would take the clabbered milk, pour it into a big bowl and beat it with a hand-turned mixer. Oh gosh, the extra cream makes all the difference.

Then there's the homemade cottage cheese........don't get me started on that. I have already told DH I am not going to start milking Mama Blue (our Jersey nurse cow) just so he can have fresh buttermilk. The old man needs to get rid of weight, not put more on - especially at his age (nearly 68) and having his cardiac history.

Have never tried it. I remember my grandpa drinking it when I was a kid.

I used to buy it for muffins and other baked goods, but I've found that a mixture of 2/3 yogurt and 1/3 milk makes a wonderful substitute.
