First off lets get one thing perfectly clear I have NEVER claimed to be the ONLY person here HELPING, how absurd. I volunteer on numerous wonderful support/help forums with a multitude of absolutely wonderful knowledgeable people this one included. I never advise anyone to do or use something that I would not use myself and that will NOT change. And any time I see one recommended that I know has some problem I WILL with out doubt provide that info so that any person considering it will have full info to make an informed decision on that program themselves, with full knowledge. And I appreciate it when someone who knows something negative about a programs speaks up and provides that info, it is how we learn. IObit has been found guilty of several thefts of program material over the years this theft of malwarebytes is just one more. NOT the kind of people I want to entrust ANY ones pc to. Try reading the info provided about IOBit. I never mentioned you anywhere in my post, I simply referred to the program,(which I would have done no matter who posted about it, and have done in the past) no idea why on Earth you felt the need to slam me, but I am not the only one here you have done it to, it really does not surprise me. xp sp3 to be pushed out by auto update soon

blocking sp3 does not in anyway block any other updates so do not worry about that. Minnie what has you confused? did you not know sp3 had been installed on your pc? It went out through auto updates as stated in the original post. susanjn be very very happy do a little dance and rejoice you are one of the lucky ones that is all I can say. (or you have not noticed yet the effects) The horrors others have experienced are quite true and quite numerous and still happening. Anyone doing the install with out first disabling all other programs and most especially any type of security programs including AV, firewall etc can definitely expect problems. Best way to do it still is to go to the actual sp3 download site and download the full sp3 update version(NOT from windows updates), then turn off every thing on the pc or best start in safe mode and try to install. If you have IE7 you better uninstall it prior to putting on sp3 as specified in the instructions listed in an above post. I still don't have it don't plan on getting it.

Hi albert, Thank-you for the compliment. I have learned from experience. Here are 2 more things to think about; My son decided that he was going to sign up on-line for free groceries. He used my phone #. Well, after clicking whatever looked interesting to him in the ads that led him to the initial regeristering for the free groceries, they had sent payment requests as 3rd party billings to Verizon. I learned fast about 3rd party blocks. And, several years ago, maybe 15, I had recieved my phone bill. It had a charge on there for the amount of over $800. I called the phone company, and they told me that I was responsible, because someone had used the phone from my house to call some Entertainment Hotline! The call was placed at 04:30!!? No one at this time would have been awake at my house. All the teenagers were elsewhere at the time,also. I had them redirect the bill back to where it came from, to get it off my bill, which they did. I never did recieve the bill from whoever it was returned to. But, a few months later, I found out from the TV Program 20/20 that people were capable of obtaining your home phone through a dial-up system on their computer that would dial your number at random, connect when you answered, and copy the number to be used at a later time for their personal enjoyment. Facebook isn't just about "friending" people you know face-to-face. It's about networking with people who have the same interests you have. If it wasn't for Facebook, I wouldn't talk to my cousins, who ALL live in The Netherlands. None of us like letter writing. Their emails get lost in all the spam I get. I have a lot of co-workers on FB and we have silly conversations on FB that we can't have at work. We don't all work the same shifts, so it's nice to talk on FB when it's convenient for us. I have friends who live in the US. We are a group of women (I mentioned our private group here a few days ago), and a few of us have met face-to-face. We used to use YahooGroups, but Facebook is so much easier to use. I belong to several colouring groups, photography groups, Calgary groups, etc., to get information directly from others. I learn more through FB about my hobbies than I do through Google, although quite often when I ask a question, I'll get sent to google... lol Facebook is addictive. It's fun. It's my way to keep up with my family because we are all so busy with our families, jobs and life in general. Do I really care what someone ate for breakfast? Nope. And they're probably not interested in what I ate either. But we post pictures and sometimes someone will say, "hey! You have a recipe for that? It looks delicious!". There is so much more than posting the food you eat or how the weather is.

Oh goodness you are all very welcome, I am more than happy to help when I can. I have always believed in the pay it forward plan so this is one way that I am sometimes able to do that.

I have been helped so many times by ravencajun, and for ages I thought she was a he, being so computer savvy. Now isn't that the most sexist thing you've heard all day??!! I've just been so very grateful for her kind answers so many times.

I read CompHelp first thing each day when I get on the computer. Helps me to know what to look out for and also I sometimes remember when I have a problem, that it has been discussed there, so I go back to check.

Oh, Raven, everyone is ganging up on you to say how much they appreciate your help. I love the Computer Help forum and like Sue-va look at it first for the same reasons.

Raven I adore you. Not everyone knows how you will hang on till late at night because you know folks like me are hard at work following your instructions. Your patience and love of people shows thru and I know your directions are going to be easy to follow. You have a large following and a good group of people over there. Recently you told someone who was struggling and didn't have a lot of confidence how you decided you were going to get into the IT world. I wish you would tell it again.

I figured you are such a happy person because you are good at this work, you have good friends and most of all "Hubs." Dear Hubs.

Thank you. You are a great selfless role model.

Awww Y'all have me all sniffling over here!

I am very used to being called HE lol I get that a lot! Most of the Ravens I know are female but there are a few males, the wrestler Raven is one. For a while there was someone that thought I was a wrestler fan, I had no idea why till I found out about that Raven.

There are a lot of great volunteers on the help forums that give of their time and experience to try to help others that need help. I am very proud to be a member of that community.
Unfortunately some forums and some helpers tend to be less understanding and short with people. That is one thing I find very hard to tolerate and will risk getting raked over the coals to remind them that manners do matter! It takes a lot for some people to just work up the courage to come ask for help, they say they are stupid or ignorant etc, that is not true just because you don't know one particular thing does not mean you are stupid or ignorant! It is all a learning experience and I learn something every day!
When I refer anyone to another forum for help I am extremely selective where I send them and only send them where I know they will be handled with respect and kindness.
I am on a LOT of help forums I have various names on them LOL but believe me they are not all the same.
We have a great group over at Computer Help and as some of you already know over at LzD my other home LOL.
I am more than happy to try to answer any question you throw at me but understand that I sure as heck do not know everything! I will however try to help you find the answer.

Thanks are a wonderful thing to hear and I so appreciate this but you don't have to feel obligated to do this, I know this is done from the heart and I feel it!

Please add me too, especially help that I received on downloading books to my ipod..........now 1500 plus books later I am an absolute slave to that little device, and get so much enjoyment out of reading again, and it rarely leaves my side. It is so easy to pick up and keep reading after putting it down to do other mundane things like housework. As for my android phone....I hate talking on the phone.....take the phone and toss it, except I need it for downloading books when I am not at home. You are my hero Raven!!!
