I had roller skates when I was a kid. When I was in my late 30s I still roller skated at a rink with friends. I wouldn't do that now, neither would my friends.

I had some roller skates when I was a kid, but I never really learned to skate. These were from a thrift shop and I skated up and down the hall and on the back porch...always ready to hold on to something. I never was very good.

When my daughter started kindergarten, a lot of the birthday parties were at the roller rink, so not wanting her to be like me and not be able to skate, I signed her up for lessons. She took lessons for about 3 months, and learned to be an excellent skater. The lessons were very cheap and you got to stay and skate after the lesson. She really enjoyed it and still skates with roller blades.

I didn't own rollerskates, but I went to the rink all the time and rented them. They used to run the rink every summer.

I had the kind to strap onto my shoes when I was little. I think it was about the time I was in about the 7th grade, I started going to the year-round roller skating rink. It was the place to be on Sunday afternoons! I wass never good at it but good enough to have fun.

I had rollerskates when I was a kid. They were the kind that strapped on and there was a key to tighten them to the shoes on each side of the toe area.

When I was in the 9th grade I had a friend whose grandpa owned a skating rink. I was able to skate there every weekend for free. We skated in the big Christmas parade in downtown Memphis. It's been years since I last skated.

We had a Roller Rink that came to town every summer. Just a Tent with a wooden floor. No A/C.

I tried to look cool and roller blade on a Date in my 40's at the Beach. LOL! My Date finally just pulled me like a pull toy. LOL! That was the last time I was on wheels.

My parents bought me ice skates once and my Dad made a very bumpy rink in the backyard. I think I wore those skates once. lol

No roller skates, but I do own ice skates. There's a large ice rink about a mile from me. My kids were pretty good skaters at one point. One daughter took private lessons, she thought she was the next Sarah Hughes.

I was a competitive roller skater for a couple years as a child. Did a lot of recreational and some speed skating as a teen. Left the sport at around 16. Came back to dance and figure as an adult and went through the test levels but didn't compete. I did do exhibition competition with the club and shows though. When DD left skating as a teen so did I.

Decided to go back to roller skating in my mid-forties but the scene had changed and artistic skating was on the way down so I switched to Ice. Ice spoiled me and now I can no longer roller skate well at all. Ice is so much easier.

I haven't been skating at all recently due to a foot problem. I plan to get back on ice soon but would also like to learn to roller skate again so I've pulled out my old skates. I want to relearn quad roller skating before I get back on ice and hopefully be able to do both. I also have a pair of street skates in the closet and I have learned to use heelies.

So yes I own 3 pairs of indoor skates, one pair of ice,one pair of outdoor and a pair of heelies.

Neither. Some kids wore the clip-on skates when I was a kid.

I went to the roller rink a few tmes, rented skates ... wasn't good at stopping ... and when one has a big nose, one has even greater danger.

nope...the idea of going very fast and then suddenly landing on my rump just never was that appealing to me
