I would never thought of peppermint treats Marilyn!!

Well, when I phoned his partner about Bob's death, I offered to work that week. He was thrilled that I'd go in. (there were 3 of them in ownership of the 3 horses).

I spoke to him about getting paid (they were paying me $75 per week so $25 each. "D" got all upset and said that Bob is the one who needed help, he didn't. Meanwhile, he only comes in on weekends, Bob was there 7 days a week, and I helped Bob 3 of those mornings. Plus Bob was going on holidays the week after he died, and I was going to work all week.

Anyway, it all fell apart over $75 bucks and "D" did promise he'd pay me, but never did. Riding in with Bob, it didn't cost me anything, and he told his family how well I worked with the horses, and how much I loved them, and the horses loved me. (They'd come to me out in the paddock, where they wouldn't with other people). And what a huge help I was to Bob. (I met his sister a few times during the time of the death and he was always saying how much Bob talked about me, and cared for me.

I went out one day later on and got my stuff out of the tack room, and I hugged the horses and they nickered, and the tears started all over again.

So, nope not with the horses.

I was talking to another girl who has her horses there, and she said that D and the new trainer were having a heck of a fight over wages and D didn't want to pay him on a regular basis. Jeesh, ya never know people, do you??

No, some people, you never do. That's sad, and I am sorry it worked out that way.

I have been looking for treats because I plan to clicker train the donkeys...thought of things that would be small and easy to use. I think Vanilla wafers would work. Also carrots cut in small pieces. I have clicker trained cats...and stumbled onto the idea while reading about donkeys on the internet. I think it will be fun.

Yeah, 2 guys at the barns both told me I had a way with the horses. One guy couldn't get his colt in from the paddock at all, and I walked in (not knowing that he had trouble) and called him and he came right over. Bill mentioned to Bob....boy he never does that with me!

And Bob always said that Blackie liked me better than him, and anytime I had to walk Blackie anywhere, it was me that took him.

I'd LOVE to clicker train my cats. Well one anyway. I've been looking, but don't see the clickers.

Yes, I could use help!

I was going to look around and see if I could find clickers locally, but I will probably end up having to order them. They aren't expensive but I'd like to find them locally. I may have to order one of the videos and books too. I had told my friend, Jodie, that I was going to teach one of the donkeys to do tricks, and that is when I stumbled onto the idea of clicker training them.

I picked out another donkey...one that I call Bug. I need to take her picture...she is so little. I really thought she was less than two years old...but according to her teeth, she is 4 yrs. old. She has an extremely sweet disposition.

Marilyn, I had a horse once that liked oreos. You could try that too. Clicker training sounds really neat. I hope it works. Can you please put some more pictures up? The donkeys are adorable.

Jasdip, the woman that owns the farm where I board my horse is like you. She can work with any of the horses and they all love her very much. She has taught me a lot about just being around the horses. You guys have a special talent.
