Anyone Make Sun-dried Tomatoes?

Hi. I have seven heirloom tomato plants growing, and I've been somewhat overwhelmed with tomatoes. Gave some to neighbors and relatives, made some fresh tomato spaghetti sauce, and of course ate a lot! . Today I picked 48 tomatoes and I'm attempting to make sun-dried tomatoes in the oven. I peeled and seeded the tomatoes, cut them in half, drizzled with EVOO, salt and papper, then laid some home-grown herbs on top. I stuck them in the oven on a cookie sheet at 200 degrees. I read several recipes, it may take anywhere from four to ten hours to dry them. Anyone made these? I'd like to know how long it took to dry them in the oven AND your favorite uses for sun-dried 'maters. Anyone?
