Anxiety, or artery blockage?
Comments (44)Cathy, I do hope your DH gets to the doctor soon - I do not understand why some men put off seeing a doctor - it just does not make sense to me, but then perhaps I pay more attention to what women tell me! The dizziness and black-out spells can definitely be related to heart or artery problems, which can be very serious. My energy level is not up to where I would like it to be, but I think I will have to work very hard on it. I've had dizzy spells all my life, and in my 20s I was told it was due to hypoglycemia, which may still be partially the case. I'm going back to the doctor in mid November, and I'll see what he suggests then. My BP lately has been still been between 113/70 and 130/84, and it depends on the time of day and what I've been doing. I adjusted my dose of Metoprolol so that I take half a pill in the morning and the whole pill in the evening. That has seemed to even my BP reading out a bit. I'll try the thigh exercise to see if that helps. I have strong thighs and am good at doing squats. I wish I did not have to sit so much at work - I should make a point to take a walk around my work table more often - I have the largest office in the building, and then I can also take walks through the warehouse and look at the furniture! I like to see what finishes and fabrics people are putting on my chair designs! Lars...See MorePre-Surgery Anxiety
Comments (20)I'm home now from the surgery yesterday evening! I wanted to cancel the whole thing, i was so scared. But i knew i needed it done. You were right! The anesthesiologist listened and made some changes to the general anesthesia so that I would have a non-volatile only. Also, no narcotics or anti nausea, paralytics, or muscle relaxants. I had a prescription anti-inflammatory and one Vicodin. Now I'm on Tylenol and Advil only. I didn't have any nausea after surgery. The PVCs disappeared with the anesthetic, so they seem to be fueled by adrenaline - no surprise. After we left, and went to the pharmacy, I experienced heart racing, some hearing loss, and feelings of sickness. So we went back to the ER. I was afraid I was having a reaction. It ended up my potassium had bottomed out and that I was dehydrated, so I received fluids and potassium. The hearing loss was from the anti-inflammatory but seems better this morning. Now it's just physical therapy. Piece of cake....See MoreHi KT and I am going in for surgery next wed...long
Comments (41)I had mine like Besty and a few others. It was done long ago in 1975 and they made me stay in the hospital for 5 days. Could not understand that, I was ready to go home the next day. I had no pain at all so never took even one pain pill. I have always said the worst part of it was staying in the hospital 5 days and standing up for the first time is kind of strange. It feels like they stretched you open enough to drive a truck through! LOL You'll do fine Stacy and will not regret for one minute you had it done....See MoreIt's official I am OLD
Comments (11)You're not old, your eyes have just aged faster.....When our patients complained they had to hold the book or paper further away, I'd tell them, their arms must have shrunk..... I don't think age really has too much to do with catarcts, sadly, even some babies are born with them.......See Morenola_anne
