I put myself under house arrest. It is truly needed, cause the rampant amount of ragweed pollen. After mowing on Tuesday I became totally miserable on Wednesday. The grass pollen/mess just acted like the dot on an i.

Since, I have quit riding my bike to work, or anyplace else, and just stayed indoors all day after work.

Today my friends are out on a self contained bike trip (3 day trip) I wish I could be on... but instead I have done dishes, laundry, vacuuming and just came back in from a short stint in the back yard (I wore a dust/allergy mask). I cut my garlic chives off, and will now go clean them, cut them, and put them in to the dehydrator.

Not sure, what I will do next... but I am about bored stiff.

Congratulations Beth on your happy news! I have never been pregnant so I cannot relate in that department. It sounds like your body is going through quite a few changes. Crackers may be good, but like any bread, they burn off quickly. Can you maybe break down your major meals into smaller, more frequent eating patterns - breakfast, mid-am, lunch, mid pm, dinner, evening? Can you tolerate fruit? veggies? leaner meats? You may want to consider how you group your foods so they burn slower, eat slower....if you want crackers, can you have a slice of cheese or a few almonds or some thing with protein? A piece of fruit? How you group your foods will help slow down the digestion of them. You may even be interested in doing a web search on the 'glycemic index australia' (the university in australia has the best site). The glycemic index groups foods by how your body digests them. Simple things like changing the type of rice you use to Uncle Ben's converted or Balsamic (they take longer to burn in your body). I would not be surprised if your food tastes change dramatically over the next little while. Keep us posted! Cheers, McPeg

Well, mine never have until now and after 12 years of close companionship you really do not expect it! What got me was that the landlord waited SIX WEEKS after i asked him to check before telling me!, As far as he knew the cat was still missing.. IRISH! Boycat is a master at the silent miau.. wish I could work out how to post photos I remember way back when I had family here in Ireland and one was making mayonaise eggs in the kitchen, window open. In snakes a paw and steals some.. HUGE starving eyes1 NB This cat weighs around 25 lbs, I cannot leave eg cake out as he loves it. LOVE my big boy! So thankful he came back and grateful for my understanding of Irish character that I did not go rushing in. .. Quiet now; everyone is full or raw chicken... Bliss1

Of course, but the courts are not meting out these punishments. A rapist may or may not be raped in jail. But so may a vulnerable prisoner who is incarcerated for a non-violent crime. It depends upon where the prisoner fits in the hierarchy of the power struggle. Someone who is a powerful victimizer outside may also be a powerful victimizer inside prison. It depends upon the inmate's physical size, ability to manipulate other people, their ability to accomplish things for other people. I think what some people would like to happen is more in the manner of revenge. I know a number of people who have said things like they hope rapists get raped in jail, or that someone who tortures his or her victims should be tortured.

Allergies are the pits. Maybe find that favorite book you have been wanting to read. Bake something off pinterest. Call your sisters or watch a football game. Do you have a gym nearby, they might have a summer special and you could ride their bikes, although it won't be near as fun. Good luck Moni.

Well, after two snacks that Glenda "suggested", LOL, I escaped. Went to Macys and bought my yearly new bras... :)
then on the way home, stopped at the hardware store and bought a machine screw my friend and I need to put her composter together.

I am back home now. Evening shows are about to start... and I found another journal on the crazyguy website I feel like I have to read. Thus, ta ta

I get two shots weekly, take allegra, a nasal spray and when it gets bad like now, I also take mucinex.

I am all topped out on what I can take.

But, I do feel better today. Just needed a break from all that pollen I guess.

Monday the pollen count is expected to be lower, and I shall go out for a bit.

My allergies haven't been too bad this year, but there's still plenty of time...My advice, if you have to go out, make it early in the day. Take frequent showers-to rinse any pollen/irritants off, plus breathing the warm steam feels good. I take prescription Flonase when my eyes start itching. .

Wow Moni-that is the pits! Are you allergic to more than one thing? All I want is to wallow in oity when that happens to me. At least you got stuff done.

Just poured my dried chives in to my chives spice jar, and a mason jar.

Nice crop so far. ;)

Your chives are beautiful! I'm a prisoner, too, because my property seems to be swarming with ticks this year. It's supposed to be cooler and less humid later this week, so I'll probably slather up in insect repellent and cut the grass.

Moni I'm right with ya girl. Mine started getting really bad two weeks ago. And just like happened the past 3 years at about this same time (Aug-Sept. transition) I got a sinus infection from it all. Last week was almost unbearable.

We live "out of town" surrounded by all different trees and grasses and weeds. I am seriously allergic to pine, goldenrod and ragweed. Which I am literally surrounded by. I didn't close up everything and stay inside soon enough.

I also get shots, have 2 prescription nasal sprays, take Allegra and have an inhaler. When it gets really bad I take extra antihistamines and sudafed. (which makes my blood pressure go up, but it can't be helped.)

I really hope you feel better soon and can get out and about again. I CAN NOT wait for fall. At least a good frost to kill everything! haha
