Real Housewives of Bevery Hills suicide

Taylor Armstrong husband Russell took his own life last night. For those of us who have watched him over the past couple of years knew he was a deeply troubled individual.. RIP Russell.

That's a real shame. I was aware of their current marital issues, but don't know much about him as a person. From what I can remember, they seemed happy on the show. Goes to "show" that this instant celebrity status, can cause problems in marriages. Look at all the other housewives who are now divorced or getting one, probably due to their fame. Sucks when it's played out on TV.

That is so sad. My heart goes out to anyone so troubled that they can see no other solution but to take their own lives. My sympathies go out to Taylor and their little girl. The new season starts soon for the BH housewives.

Yes, I admit to being a Housewife closet watcher. My favorites are Beverly Hills, NY and NJ. Never really got into the Atlanta, DC or Miami (totally missed that one!). I got hooked on the Orange County Housewives - I guess they're not on anymore? Yes, their petty, outrageously inappropriate with their spending, attitude - just about everything, but I love the show. Just find it very amusing and I tape the show so can watch the whole thing via DVR in about 20 mins. I feel bad for Taylor in that she seems in the early shows prior to hubby committing suicide to be torn between wanting to stay married or leaving him. Obviously, things must have gotten worse as I think there is a 6 month delay in taping vs. showing on the air. Really sortof sad. I think they're trying to make Adrian the villain this year with her nagging her husband. Also, Kim's drinking or whatever she's doing seems to be a focal point again. So between Russell, Kim, Adrian and Taylor should be a good season!

I don't need a TV. I'll just watch over sheilajoyce's shoulder. LOL Tonight we'll be recording Season 3 of "Luther" -- runs on BBC-America for four consecutive nights. Can't wait to see the character Alice again! The star is Idris Alba -- first known to us as the character Stringer Bell in "The Wire" (an all-time favorite series set in Baltimore). We're in and out of "Intelligence", a Canadian TV series set in Vancouver. We watch a lot of older programs on DVD's from our library. This one was made around the same time as "The Sopranos" and is equally riveting. "New Tricks" is another British series we enjoying -- must be in its' ninth season. (Retired detectives investigate cold cases.) We catch "Hawaii Five-O" for the scenery. (Known to us as the tropical cartoon.) Next up -- for this afternoon's Teatime Matinee -- is "Silks". The only network programs we watch are news and commentary -- mostly CNN and MSNBC -- and ABC for "Jeopardy" at 6 p.m. Saturdays. DH watches Da Bears (depending -- LOL).

I saw some of this on the news. So sad. She is a classy lady who has lived so much of her life in the public eye. I did not know she was divorced, twice divorced, or an abused wife. My heart goes out to anyone in that situation and breaks for a mom whose son committed suicide. She is a real beauty, and I think it is a real shame that she had her upper lip done. It looks so very odd when she turns her face at any angle. This week I spotted Cher on David Letterman. Now that woman has ruined her looks with too much plastic surgery. Nothing moves right. I wish someone would talk to these beautiful stars and tell them that they don't need poofy lips or huge chests. They are turning themselves into freaks. I loved how cute Melanie Griffith was, and she too has gone too far with plastic surgery.

Ha! Well, my current fridge SUCKS (part of the reason my timetable is being moved up), so it's really stupidly simple. I keep the fridge as cold as I can without freezing the milk. First, I get the crispest cilantro I can find. I keep the cilantro in the bag from the store and wrapped lightly closed and make sure it sits on top of everything else in my broken crisper drawer. When I need it, I throw away anything that looks wilted first because that will spoil the bunch. Then I get out and wash just what I need and put the rest back. It literally does take a month to go bad. My ginger, I peel first, wrap tightly in foil, put in a baggie, and freeze. When I need it, I use my microplane. That's how it stays juicy instead of shriveling sadly in my fridge. Lemons go yucky in the door but are happy in the crisper drawer for 6 weeks. I have 170 spices and mixes last count. I buy in bulk put a little of each in my spice jars, except the ones I use a quarter cup at a time. The rest go in the deep freeze. Which is...yeah, it's mostly full of spices. I have enough asafoetida for about three lifetimes. #deepkitchensecrets I hate how much space produce takes up. Everything is spilling out the day after my shopping day. Whole fridge is in my future.

I had seen magazine reports he had recently beat her very badly, broke her jaw and nose and put her in the hospital in very serious condition, and that they were divorcing.
He was so controlling that came out very much on the show.
There was something very wrong with him.
He was also facing some serious financial issues and lawsuits.

I really feel for their child, and his other child from a previous marriage.

It seems like most of the cast and the crew knew about the abuse and saw the evidence.

Taylor filed for divorce in July. I don't know if that and his financial issues were the reasons. It was apparent in season one that they were having issues, she and he never seemed happy together and often times she commented that to her co-stars. My heart goes out to his family, in addition to his daughter Kennedy, he also has two young sons from a previous marriage.
