Very pretty and the really nice thing is that they don't cost an arm and a leg. I saw this show on TV ..I think "Say Yes to the Dress" one time and the gowns were mostly all above 2.000 and the sales girl said...we don't have much at a price point that low.......

I really loved many of them and was surprised at a positive reaction to the second one which was very very plain.

Bovier and Crepe de Chine would be at the top of my list.....

What's nice is that many of these are truly innovative and interesting. Not only is "Say Yes to the Dress" all about ridiculously expensive gowns, it is boring because about 95% of the brides to be select pretty much the same thing--mermaid, strapless "sexy" style or hugely over-the-top princess style.

Most of these seemed very casual to me and not really what I think of when I think of wedding dresses. I think most would be nice for a small or casual wedding or a second (or third) marriage.

I do especially like the Ethereal Monarch Gown... but for $3200. I think I'll pass. lol

I agree with Lydia, really don't look like wedding dresses to me....I guess I'm from the old school, brides should look like brides and not like their ready for the prom....I'm a wedding coordinator at our church and I have seen some very pretty dresses and there have been some that you just want to say, HUH????And, I'm really, really surprised at all the strapless dresses...Here again, old school, I don't think they should be worn at a religious ceremony.......Of course, maybe being 75 has something to do with it, lol.......

Most of them reminded me of the "flapper" era. I thought some of them looked more like a garden party dress. Fun to look at though.

I'm with you Sunny.....(77) and thinking that a bit of 'coverage' is needed. Sign of the times, perhaps.

I have no problem with a strapless dress, but they should be modest still. I don't like to see the translucent tops, plunging necklines, etc. There is a lot of tasteless stuff out there. And so many are so structured that they are stiff to walk in, as if you are wearing a cardboard box based costume.

I think many of these dresses are pretty. The bride should wear the dress, and not the other way around.

I was drawn to the tea length designs. Some of the floor length choices looked more like nightgowns to me.

I love the Fairy Song gown.

If the sleeves were longer, and the neckline just a tad higher, I could see me wearing it my friend's masquerade ball she's hosting next spring.

I'd add gloves, a lace fan, and a carnival mask and be an older quasi-Jane Austen

Guess I am more of a traditionalist, while these are interesting, they just don't do it for me. Some look like lingerie :)

I stopped watching Say yes to the dress because they always showcased the same designer (Nina somebody?) and the same 3 or 4 dresses in her collection. I was tired of seeing the corset see-through dress. Save it for the honeymoon lol

I'm a traditionalist too. You only get married once (theoretically) so why wear a dress you could wear into Target and no one even look at you twice? Go big or go home I say. LOL

When I got engaged, I shopped with my Mom and found a wedding dress I loved for $500. But it was off-white (ivory) and one female relative told me it signalled everyone I wasn't a virgin. I loved it anyway. I do enjoy looking at wedding dresses. Who can ever forget Princess Di's long,long train?

I love some of them. I like the Nicosia Garden. I don't think it's meant for a pregnant bride but I bet it would work for one.

I'm not very traditional when it comes to weddings and think a lot of traditional wedding dresses are ugly, so I could see myself wearing something like a few of these.

I agree with Jennmonkey. I think they are stunning and a welcomed change. My wedding dress is not what brides would wear today.

If you look in Nordstrom's Bridal Department you will see that many of the gowns are like long formal dresses (not high school formals but sophisticated events.) I'm tired of the wedding dresses that look like wedding dresses. I like the subdued colors of some of them.
These are very pretty and feminine. You defininetly would not wear cowboy boots with these like I saw on Say Yes to the Dress.
I wish I had the model's figure. She wears all of them well. Hooray for change.

I agree with everyone about the strapless. I don't understand why this had become so popular. So many brides are not fit enough to wear this style.
I have a niece who is getting married next spring. She is over weight but likes to call herself curvy. She tends to try to wear things tight and I honestly don't think she looks at herself from all angles in the mirror.
I am hoping she picks a dress that at least is her size . I want to be able to tell her she looks beaitiful in her wedding dress and actually mean it.

I like both of these a lot. I think they are simple, but gorgeous. I like empire waists.

I love the simplicity of the Bouvier. For an afternoon wedding I would go with the tulle era gown, but with different shoes and minus the head thing. I love that these dresses are different, not the poofy monstrosities seen many times these days.

I agree with the poster who said most of them look like they're from the flapper era.

A couple struck as very unflattering to the bride. We have a shop here that I have to drive by every so often and I swear whoever owns it hates women. You wouldn't believe some of the dresses and brides maids dress they have displayed. A friend of mine once remarked that "she wouldn't be caught dead" in a couple of the ones they had on display.

I agree about the strapless dresses. It doesn't matter if the bride is a size 2 or 22 they all think they have to have a strapless gown. I remember when KATE got married and someone here thought maybe it would change that but it doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon. I really didn't care for any of the dresses but I liked the ones jenmonkey posted.
