I just saw it on FB and it looks good & easy too. not that I need it!

2 cans of pie filling (your choice)
1 box cake mix (your choice)
1 stick of butter

put pie filling in crock pot
then dump cake mix on top of filling
then melt the butter and pour over top of cake mix
cook on low for 3 hours.

i got it off here and i used apple and a carmel cake mix was so amazing

The "Florida Prince" variety of peach tree sets fruit, but my tree is still so small that the chickens jump up and eat all the fruit - usually the day before I want to pick it. It does go completely dormant and looks dead for about a month during the winter, so don't take it out while it is "dead". ( I almost did! ) One of my neighbors in the next camp over has a red apple tree that fruits every year. He doesn't know what type it is, but he gave me a seedling so in several years, we will know if it breeds true or not. I had several horseradish plants in a pot that just languished and did nothing for a year. I wanted to put something else in the pot and stuck the horseradish in the ground where it is now doing well. The asparagus is growing well, but it doesn't seem to want to make spears at the same time. If you want to eat one or two spears a week, then plant asparagus. I suppose I could freeze the spears, but now I just use the asparagus greens in my cut flower arrangements. Roses love it here, but the beetles eat the leaves terribly. I put Sevin dust in a shaker can and dust the roses whenever there's more holes than leaves. Same with the grapes. Iris (flags) don't seem to do well at all. I've tried wisteria and clemantis, but haven't gotten any to survive long enough to find out where they want to grow. Nasturiums thriving and reseeding all over the place. Green beans grow well but will die off after one "season" of harvest. Lima beans will last for several years of harvest. Indeterminate small fruited tomatoes (cherry, Roma, etc.) do real well and last for several seasons. Collard greens grow exceptionally well and will last for several years. Also other assorted greens do well. Sometimes the small green caterpillars attack the leaves, but the plant will usually survive.

Patti, think of it this way....the dark green stems are left on to protect the tender part from damage and dessication. I've heard some TV cooks remark about freezing those stems for use when making stock. I've not done that but it sounds like a good idea. I save shrimp shells for stock! I love plums and always look forward to seeing them in the markets. I agree that this 'lemon plum ' is special. Plums don't have a very long shelf life, sadly, and bruise so easily. They shouldn't be picked when they are still little hard because they don't continue to get sweet once picked. They'll soften up but taste mealy and bland. They are picked much too early to withstand the rigours of the commercial market. I haven't gone exploring in the right grocery stores (lately) to find something new to me. I taught a college course one year about exotic, tropical, and world foods and for a fun assignnent challenged the class to find, research, and prepare for eating something that fullfilled the assignnent. It was a night class, so conducive to sharing a little meal. What fun! I had never tasted starfruit until that night....delicious. Students sleuthed out really neat grains, spices, fruits and vegetables. Luckily, our little city was multi-cultural....and larger cities very close by.

Thanks! Oakley -yay for Aquage! That brush looks amazing. Funkyart which style do you think runs wider? My feet feel much better. My left foot doesn’t hurt at all anymore when I have them on. The right foot still does but I suspect it will take awhile for that foot to settle down. I really need a pair of comfortable (standard work with almost anything black) boots/booties but don’t really like their styles. Theres one that’s ok but I wish the toebox was shaped a little different. Going to order more sandals. Im going to look into some of the other sandals mentioned here too. Thanks Eld. Yeon -The small bottle (they have a large size too) has a dropper and I just put a drop on the applicator and run it along the top. Another drop for the bottom and drop right at the beginning of the spooly brush to use on my brows. It sounds like a lot but I have over half a bottle still. I don’t recommend brushing the oil on the lashes with the spooly brush (mascara wand) because the oil is so thick it just beads up. It’s kind of gunky feeling but doesn’t irritate the eyes at all. I do it right before bed and sleep with it on. In the morning I just rub my eyes. It seems some of its absorbed in because there’s less. ETA - Thanks for suggestions about exercises. I was thinking there was probably stretches or something I could do to help. I'll check it out. Justerrilynn -They look great! And nice ZZ plant too.

Nature's Bounty (I think) Hair, Skin, and Nails supplement. I wore acrylic nails for about 25 years. When my lady passed, and the younger crowd started that new "short, thick, gluncky look", I gave up. That was at least 15 years ago. My nails never recovered. Wouldn't grow, would peel apart like layers of old parchment paper, were so thin and brittle ... my fine, thin, hair would not grow past my shoulder blades. I've been taking this about two months. My hair is/ was down to my butt (I got it cut tonight to mid-back - the gal could not stop talking about how silky, and full, my hair was! She had another stylist come over, and they just kept running their fingers through my hair. Husband asked me if I was purring!) My nails are fabulous. Strong and healthy! I have to trim them every weekend, and be careful rubbing my eyes, or scratching an itch, because they are so strong, and long, that I'm not used to them yet. On the flip side, I also have to soak my feet and give myself a pedi every week, because the toenails are getting just as long, and strong! LOL

Yup sure have. I usually do cherry filling with white cake mix. So good. We call it dump cake.

I have made so many kinds of dump cake and every single one is wonderful but I never did one in the crock pot. The one I do that is really a big hit is the one can of the pineapple which is supposed to be used in any dump cake then one can of the spiced apple and add cinnamon and a little brown sugar. It is yummy.

Wow - looks great. What brand was the caramel cake mix that you used? I don't think I've seen one. I will look this afternoon when I go to the grocery store.

It is similar to the dump cake I make, except my recipe is one can of cherry pie filling, one can of pineapple tidbits and a cake mix plus butter and nuts. I have never tried it in a crock pot.

I haven't made it yet, that was someone else's note at the bottom. I wish you didn't need 2 cans of pie filling. Has anyone made it with just one?

I made it and it wasn't good at all. My recipe only called for 1 (21 oz.) can of pie filling. Maybe that was the problem. It was a dump cake all right. Went straight in the dump!

Why do you wish you didn't need 2 cans of pie filling? I would imagine that you could use one, but not sure why you'd want to.

This sounds like it'd be great with vanilla ice cream!

(Carmel means caramel, right? Just checking)

Did a search for dump cake with one can pie filling and there were plenty with the same recipe.

Three ingredient dump cake
1 can pie filling (any flavor)
1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 C butter/margarine melted

dump the pie filling in the crockpot. melt butter in the microwave, once melted mix with the yellow cake mix, sprinkle over pie filling. Cook low 2-3 hours, serve warm with heavy cream or ice cream.

This is my version of dump cake. Used to make it back in camping days. Called it dump cake cause you just mixed all the ingredients together and dumped in a bundt pan.

Chocolate dump cake
1 package devils food cake mix
1 package chocolate instant pudding
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup oil
4 eggs
1 small container of sour cream
1 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350ÃÂ°F.

Dump cake mix and pudding into big mixing bowl. Stir in warm water and oil.

Beat eggs and add to mixture. Stir in the sour cream. Add chocolate chips.

Pour batter mixture into greased bundt pan. Cook in middle rack of oven for about an hour or until a toothpick test comes out clean.

Using two cans would definitely make this better, the old recipe only used one can and was an oven recipe. I'm pretty sure I'd just use the oven to bake this but it never dawned on me to up it to two cans of filling...HA! It bet it would be even better if you just diced up real apples and put a little bit of cinnamon on them.

I think the crock pot idea sounds wonderful. I make a dump cake in the oven that is always a hit.
One large can of peaches dumped in the cake pan (juice, too).
One butter pecan cake mix. One melted stick of butter. I mix the cake and butter together in a bowl, otherwise you hit dry clumps of cake mix.
