I just saw it on FB and it looks good & easy too. not that I need it!

2 cans of pie filling (your choice)
1 box cake mix (your choice)
1 stick of butter

put pie filling in crock pot
then dump cake mix on top of filling
then melt the butter and pour over top of cake mix
cook on low for 3 hours.

i got it off here and i used apple and a carmel cake mix was so amazing

I have a friend who loves Sun Drop so much she wears the bottle caps as earrings to go with her constantly worn Sun Drop T-shirt! Maybe I just don't know what the intrigue is about this beverage yet I live in the South where everybody seems to advertises this soda, but have yet to try it. Tried the mini donut maker, similar concept, but with no stick. We tried a regular cake mix and used less liquid than called for, almost like batter for thick pancakes. Worked well they were uniform in size when we used a large tablespoon to fill each cavity. Yesterday we tried a chewy brownie mix, and found it just a bit too thick and had to add a tablespoon of liquid. Came out well. Dipped them in cream cheese icing just as they were cooling off. Strange that they do not put any kind of instructions in the boxes from the manufacturer. It would help. Each time I have used it I only make a batch, in my case 7, and store the rest in a tupperware container in the fridge. Quick dessert or snack when you want one NOW. I wonder if you froze your pops for a few minutes maybe ten to fifteen, before adding sticks that they might grab on better, and would be easier to dip or put toppings on them? ps chocolate seems to burn fast so keep an eye on it when cooking in those little machines.

I have the cookbook, checked to see if the online recipe is the same 4 eggs, 8" pan. It is. The last chocolate ganache cake I made was Martha's, not Ina's...but reviews of Ina's include descriptions of something in between a brownie and fudge. Could it have not been underdone, but rather just not what you'd expected? Sounds pretty yummy to me.

Floral, I definitely see the growing problem with the EU's overreach and excessive regulations, it's getting to the point where it feels like almost everything is being banned. I also care about healthier food, which is why I try to grow as much of my own as possible, so I understand your concerns. That said, new issues are emerging, there's now a growing black market in the EU for illegal pesticides that were banned decades ago, many of which are also banned in the U.S. because they've been proven harmful. That’s not a good direction either. The EU’s new Green Deal is shaping up to be a train wreck for the agricultural sector, I’m sure you’ve seen the farmers protesting in the news. They’re being pushed into a corner with no real way out, which will ultimately mean fewer farmers, higher food prices, and increased reliance on imports. Take potatoes, for example. When the EU banned the last effective pesticide against wireworms in 2022, (still used in the USA and other countries) many farmers started losing between 10% to 50% of their harvest. That led to a surge in potato imports in 2024, and it’s only going to get worse. I’ve seen it firsthand. Here’s damage from wireworms in my own garden this year. Crop rotation doesn’t help much since wireworms can survive in the soil for up to five years. I do rotate potatoes in a field to reduce worm populations but still ended up losing 80% of the crop. I moved my potatoes to a new field five years ago, and must find a clean field for next year with low wireworm populations. This is what wireworms do from my own garden this year with no pesticides. This isn't the 1700's when the EU population was a quarter of what is is now where 80% of the people were farmers. Now it's only 4% and they are feeding 4 times as many people. The EU is putting excessive pressure on these farmers to produce and trying to take agriculture back to the 1700's. At some point the train wreck will crash with negative consequences with the EU's new green deal and more food will require more imported food from who knows where.

Yup sure have. I usually do cherry filling with white cake mix. So good. We call it dump cake.

I have made so many kinds of dump cake and every single one is wonderful but I never did one in the crock pot. The one I do that is really a big hit is the one can of the pineapple which is supposed to be used in any dump cake then one can of the spiced apple and add cinnamon and a little brown sugar. It is yummy.

Wow - looks great. What brand was the caramel cake mix that you used? I don't think I've seen one. I will look this afternoon when I go to the grocery store.

It is similar to the dump cake I make, except my recipe is one can of cherry pie filling, one can of pineapple tidbits and a cake mix plus butter and nuts. I have never tried it in a crock pot.

I haven't made it yet, that was someone else's note at the bottom. I wish you didn't need 2 cans of pie filling. Has anyone made it with just one?

I made it and it wasn't good at all. My recipe only called for 1 (21 oz.) can of pie filling. Maybe that was the problem. It was a dump cake all right. Went straight in the dump!

Why do you wish you didn't need 2 cans of pie filling? I would imagine that you could use one, but not sure why you'd want to.

This sounds like it'd be great with vanilla ice cream!

(Carmel means caramel, right? Just checking)

Did a search for dump cake with one can pie filling and there were plenty with the same recipe.

Three ingredient dump cake
1 can pie filling (any flavor)
1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 C butter/margarine melted

dump the pie filling in the crockpot. melt butter in the microwave, once melted mix with the yellow cake mix, sprinkle over pie filling. Cook low 2-3 hours, serve warm with heavy cream or ice cream.

This is my version of dump cake. Used to make it back in camping days. Called it dump cake cause you just mixed all the ingredients together and dumped in a bundt pan.

Chocolate dump cake
1 package devils food cake mix
1 package chocolate instant pudding
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup oil
4 eggs
1 small container of sour cream
1 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350ÃÂ°F.

Dump cake mix and pudding into big mixing bowl. Stir in warm water and oil.

Beat eggs and add to mixture. Stir in the sour cream. Add chocolate chips.

Pour batter mixture into greased bundt pan. Cook in middle rack of oven for about an hour or until a toothpick test comes out clean.

Using two cans would definitely make this better, the old recipe only used one can and was an oven recipe. I'm pretty sure I'd just use the oven to bake this but it never dawned on me to up it to two cans of filling...HA! It bet it would be even better if you just diced up real apples and put a little bit of cinnamon on them.

I think the crock pot idea sounds wonderful. I make a dump cake in the oven that is always a hit.
One large can of peaches dumped in the cake pan (juice, too).
One butter pecan cake mix. One melted stick of butter. I mix the cake and butter together in a bowl, otherwise you hit dry clumps of cake mix.
