That is sweet. I had no idea dogs could swim underwater so well. I liked the pooch being tucked in bed.

awww. Too sweet, except for the dog and baby. I don't think I would have left my dog do that if I had one when I had babies. Message is good. Give a dog a second life, and I've done that with my two rescues.

I'm a "big dog" person, too, but I also loved that little dog getting tucked in.

I've never seen dogs swim underwater like that. When the kid swam under the dog I worried about him getting scratched. I once made the mistake of getting in front of my German Shepherd while he was swimming. My thighs got scratched up something fierce.

I started getting tearful when the big black dog jumped into the water. I miss Wolfy!

I like the great dane! Those legs could keep up with me walking while I ran.....lol

Nicole, I know I'll get a dog at some point. We've always gotten dogs soon after losing one. But this time I wanted to give myself a break after a long period of caring for two elderly dogs. As far as I'm concerned, my "break" has been long enough! LOL But I don't like the idea of getting a new dog and leaving it alone for so long while I'm at work. Also, I have to have cataract surgery at some point, and I want to get that over with while I don't have a dog in the house. (Dog care would be difficult for a few days following the surgery.)

My previous two dogs were big ones..Afghan Hound and greyhound, and I do love big dogs. Not quite as enamored over tiny dogs so I settled for two 24 pound dogs who are solid, strong and walk the 2 miles I do every day with them. Really the Dachshund would walk 5 miles, I think. My Afghan pulled me off a bike when I was younger resulting in a concussion. The greyhound weighed almost 70 pounds. I thought ..I'm not getting any younger and if these dogs live 10 or 15 years, I'll be old and not able to handle a big dog. Both these dogs are fierce watchdogs which is a plus for me although I don't know if they'd actually bite. Go to Petfinder where you can peruse all dogs in your area at your leisure. Oh, I made the big mistake of browsing at PetFinder a few weeks ago, before I was prepared to adopt. I fell in love with two German Shepherd mixes, Roscoe and Ginger. They haunted me for days! I visit the local shelter every few weeks to bring cooked beef and chicken scraps (I freeze them over a period of time and then bring the containers to the shelter so they can feed them to the dogs), and when I was there last week I asked about the two dogs. Ginger had been adopted, which was a big relief because she hadn't been doing well in the shelter, but Roscoe was still there.

I browse petfinder every once in a while and usually find one I'd love to bring home. But the fact that we've got three already keeps me from following through. If we were to adopt a 4th it would be a Cavalier because I miss my Sophie (who stayed with her dad and her blind sister dog Ellie when we separated).

Rescue is certainly the way to go! All three of ours are rescue babies and we love them so much. Couldn't imagine life without them any more.

I've seen this video before and it was fun to watch again. If it made you cry, you definitely need another dog. I have a puppy and it brought a smile to my face. I loved the dogs with the babies. Dogs seem to know they need to be gentle with babies and older folks....Georgy doesn't know I'm an older folk!
