Any one watch Totally outrageous on Thursday night? It was a program of practical jokes people have pulled on each other. Some, made me cringe and wonder how the person on the receiving end wasn't hurt, but one, I keep thinking about was, a guy went on vacation, and while he was gone, his friends totally wrapped every single thing in his apartment, in Christmas wrapping paper. I mean, every single thing was wrapped, the couch, the couch cushions, pics on the wall, towel hanging on the bathroom towel bar, every item in the fridge, the fridge with the door wrapped separately so it could be opened. When the guy opened the door to his APT., it was quite a sight. My first thought was golly, how much $$$ did they spend on all of that paper?

Have ever been on the receiving end of a P.J? Or pulled one yourself?

The only one I can think of, I witnessed. My sis-in-law was making her first turkey dinner and because the family was large, she bought and roasted a HUGE bird. When it was done, and sitting in the roasting pan to rest, her brothers (my hubs included) hid her bird and put a cooked Cornish hen in its place in the roasting pan. When she took the lid off the pan to carve the bird, I thought she was going to pass out when she saw this itty bitty bird in place of the big turkey she thought she had cooked for the crowd.

I didn't see the program, but I'd love to! What channel and time does it come on? I couldn't tell you the last time my TV was turned on..but this show sounds like something I'd like!!

Well, I'm one of those people who does not care for practical jokes, especially if they hurt the intended recipient. Just my two cents.

I don't know about the changes of the dates being done manually. Anything is possible so I'm not saying it didn't happen, however most likely it was a computer glitch. I can guarantee you they won't find your stuff until it just "shows" up so call the vendor and have a replacement sent. About a year ago, Fedex "lost" my husbands new 400.00 telescope. It was his birthday present and sadly didn't make it on time. Anyway, I just called the vendor and explained what happened, they sent a replacement that day. The guy told me that everything is insured and they would just file a claim with Fedex. As it turned out, a few days after the new one arrived, the neighbor lady came over toting a huge box in her kids wagon. They had delivered it to her by mistake and they found it sitting in their garage. I called the vendor again and they arranged for a call tag to pick it up. Emailing a company has never worked for me, you might have a better outcome if you just call your vendors directly and let them send you a new one. If you want something in writing, confirm the conversation in an email afterwards.

I remember you mentioning that once before Dottie and I laugh every time I think of it. I told Mom about it last Thanksgiving.
Oh to have had a video!

When I was a welder, we used to put the goop that you use at the end of the gun to keep it from getting crusted, into the fingers of another guy's gloves at break.
You'd put your glove on after break and your fingers would come into contact with the gel. Yuck.

Country Bumpkin, it is on Thursday nights starting @ 7:00PM, central time on the TruTV network. That used to be Court TV. It isn't always P. jokes, but other outrageous behavior.

Rosemaryt, I only like P. Jokes that do not hurt or humiliate people. Some are just good fun.

I don't like "practical jokes";
with the exception, *maybe*, of the gift wrap, they're almost always cruel & passive-aggressive.

& the butt of the joke is always admonished, "What's the matter, can't you take a joke?"

My DD is bookkeeper for a non-profit group home organization. Last year, they got a new supervisor. He had to go for some orientation, so, while he was gone, they painted his office PINK. I don't know how they had the nerve, but they must have had vibes that he was a good guy. He said it was a real shock when he opened his door, but they all agreed that they would paint it again in whatever color he chose.

I heard one on NPR the other day...One floor in a college dorm was all male and everyone had single rooms. On a Friday, one of the fellows left town for the weekend. Over the weekend, those staying behind purchased sheetrock, mud, tape, and paint to match what existed in the halls. They covered the door to the absentee fellow's room with sheetrock, painted it and made that stretch look like any old part of the wall.

When the fellow returned on Sunday, and couldn't find his room, he went looking for someone to tell him what was going on. Part II of the practical joke was that everyone else pretended that they didn't know this guy and had never laid eyes on him before. I guess this went on until the next morning before they helped him unearth his door.

I thought that was one of the better college pranks I've ever heard of.

Phyllis MN, there was another one on the same show as the C.wrapping prank. While a fellow was away from his cubical, his office mates painted it pink and made it a totally girl space. Funny

We didn't ruin the gloves Dilly. Just put some in the ends of the fingers.....didn't fill the glove.
Just stuffed paper towel in to soak it up somewhat.

Believe me, it doesn't take long for the gloves to get ruined anyway, welding with the oil from the parts. We went through gloves regularly. (and leather coats and spats over our work boots.)

Our DIL's father attended Seminary before deciding against taking Orders. He has so many tales of things those boys did to one another. (One involved a retreat, an outhouse and saran wrap.) Are practical jokes a 'guy thing'?

My DH bought a VW the first year he lived in his fraternity house. While he was asleep one night his 'brothers' carried the 'bug' up a flight of steps and left it on the porch in front of the entry door to the house.
