Still on vacation with Chris. We took this photo a couple of nights ago on Bailey Island Maine. Can anyone help identify it? I thought it might be some sort of crabapple.

I LOVE this sunflower! I think it's the only one like it from a mixture packet. Gonna save the seeds.

Mimi, it's a Rugosa rose. Those are the rosehips (seed heads) that form after the roses are finished blooming.

Gazania, I love that color, too. But the hummingbird moths appear to prefer a couple of other monardas to this one. Or maybe I'm just looking at the wrong time. I think we had more of those moths in previous years, too.

It's a funny thing. The waterfall that is pictured today is less than half a mile from where I've camped numerous times. On a whim this year I followed a fork in the river that I've never been along before. It was very brushy, with many downed trees. Really tough going, but, what a reward.
