Casey, what a beautiful and fun sign!! It reminds me of one that was in Baltimore when I lived there. It said "Welcome to Baltimore, Hon" alluding to the fact that everyone calls you "hon" there.

I live near the small town of Pine Island, MN. City Hall was built in 1909 and has a Seth Thomas clock in the tower. Most small towns in the area moderenized (electrified) their clocks in the mid 1900's but Pine Island never did. My friend, and former mayor, Jerry, has taken on the task of maintaining and hand winding the clock every 5 to 6 days. Last Friday he gave me a tour. Pictures to follow over the next few days.
It's Summer so of course the orange barrels are out in force.

Yesterday in another post I wrote how I had created a collage for my son as a gift last Christmas. Everyone in the family had to make their gifts.

My son works for Audi so I took an image of him, his favorite Audi and the Audi symbols and put this together for him.

This is not a great sunflower picture, but I had to post it because it's the first of the tall ones to open this year. I measured it at 11 feet tall.

Thanks Susan and Nicole. Tomorrow I'll post the one I made for my daughter. I seldom do non-corporate graphics but I sure had fun doing the kid's collages. Though I have to admit, Michael's collage looks a bit "corporate". :-) You can be the judge on the one I did for DD Amber tomorrow.

I wish I had the room to grow sunflowers. Do you ever harvest and roast the seeds? I look forward to Halloween each year when the neighbors all save pumpkin guts for me. I roast them up and eat them for weeks. Oh gosh, now I've got a craving for sunflower and pumpkin seeds...

Plant sunflowers and your next years crop will be mostly weeds. They would look fine in a natural setting but a lot of pulling in a garden. The same with morning glories. I like them especially the vivid blue in this thread, but alas, for a couple of years you will be on your hands and knees pulling wild ones. Sorry, those are my negative thoughts for the day.

vala55.....actually....I'm growing most of my flowers in deck pots on our 900sq foot deck. (Yes I have other decks down lower). This one is up high where the deer can't get to it. No chance of anything spreading...or infesting anything....:0) and there is always room for more....and dreaming of what I'm gonna plant next year is half the fun!!!
