Susan, that picture was taken July 9th of this year at about 10,500 feet in the Bighorn mountains of Wyoming.I've been out there numerous times and have never seen so much snow and ice as this year. Here in Minnesota we've had a cool Summer (the 2nd coolest July on record) apparently Wyoming was experiencing the same trend. Ron

I wonder what the occasion was, Rosemary.......? Beautiful violas, KarenMay! Nicole, I love your garden. Vetaal, my arms would probably give out halfway, and I'd be stuck there. :-) Ron, that takes dedication! Karen, you take great hikes. You must have wonderfully toned legs! I cleaned my kitchen window so I could photograph wildlife through it (I need all the motivation I can get), and was rewarded with the arrival of this handsome Flicker.

Beautiful pictures again! Ron...how do you get your hydragea to bloom? I have two that are about 5 yrs old and have never bloomed at all. Here are some wave photos from Bill passing through yesterday, sure was pretty to watch. We didn't get it anywhere near as badly as they warned us thank heavens.

I see it too.

I took this Saturday at a post wedding outdoor brunch our next door neighbors gave. This big guy flew in and landed on a vase with some bridesmaid's flowers in it. Don't know what is is, but it sure was big.

Thanks for the video, Taigen. Great job getting all those shots of the chrysalis-in-progress. The little metallic gold ornamentation has always fascinated me. It must be there for a purpose; I wonder what it is.

Jodi, that's a scarab beetle. They show up this time of year. They're not very good flyers, but their iridescent color is lovely. I think they are not very long-lived either.
