What time is Steph's Ultrasound??

It's after midnight, so it's Monday. Today Steph and Brent go for an ultrasound to find out if Grant will have a little sister or a little brother...

Can you tell I'm eager to find out? :-)

Hi Everyone, I'm here. :) Sorry I missed your bumps! Nothing has changed since my last post, still waiting a couple more weeks for my next ultrasound and doctor appointments. Still no symptoms, just feel like I'm living large and gained 7 more pounds stress eating. We haven't told anyone else yet as I want to wait for the NT scan and the Panorama test we are doing (it's the one for Down and other chromosome screening). It was suggested I do it at my "advanced maternal age" and I couldn't not know if something is wrong. It takes 2 weeks for the bloodwork to come back and you all know how I love to wait. It's all I seem to do! I still have no symptoms while all my online pregnant mommy friends are still nauseous or suffering from morning sickness, all sore and tired, crazy cravings, etc. I kinda feel left out with none of it! Whatever I pictured pregnancy to feel like, this isn't it. I tried on some maternity clothes and I just look ridiculous. I ended up just going up a size in regular clothes as nothing looked right yet. I wish it was still winter and I could hide in my sweaters and leggings. Hopefully I'll relax once we get all the test results back and I know everything is ok. We find out the gender from the test too so that part will be exciting. Thank you for thinking of me. I'm trying to stay off my computer as I tend to google like crazy and get myself all worked up. :)

Oh, my gosh, no - I certainly didn't intend to start a debate. I'm a 58-year-old childless (many miscarriages) woman who worked for OB/GYNs for several years approximately 30 years ago, so although I don't have any first-hand experience, I am well aware of many pregnancy-related things, but simply did not know the present-day cost of 3D ultrasounds. My niece, as I said, is pregnant for the first time. She will turn 31 in April. She and her husband do not want to know the baby's gender before the doctor announces it in the delivery room (or birthing suite, or wherever they may be). I am not saying that I would want her to have an extra, unnecessary ultrasound. I was simply thinking that when it is time for an ultrasound that the doc would want, that it would be cool to have a 3D ultrasound, and since insurance doesn't cover them, I am more than happy to pay for it. The prices that have been mentioned, above, are much less than half a day's pay for me, so, to me, that's nothing. I can well afford it. But even if the money were tight for me, I would still find a way to pay for it by cutting back somewhere else. I love my niece very much, and she has waited a long time to be a mother. She is one of the most fabulous people I know, and her husband is incredible, too. They will be great parents. As for the comment that it would be a waste because (paraphrasing here) "once the baby is born the ultrasound photos would become unimportant and be tossed in a pile with other insignificant stuff," well, that one made me laugh out loud. If that's what you think of "stuff" like this, then why take any photographs - ever?

When I went in for my last ultrasound, we were told we were having a girl and that the tech was "as sure as she could be", pointing out 3 little dots that denote something to do with a little girls reproductive system. We are still not 100% sure, but if it is born a boy, we will be scrambling to find things that are not pink. When showing everyone the disc that had the images on it, I would have to agree with the tech, but it is a lot harder to prove that something isn't there, than prove it is. I would simply wait for your next ultrasound and hope for better pictures. Maybe it will cooperate better next time around. Good luck and congrats on the baby.

Karen, thank you for your update, what a beautiful boy he is! Lobo is a very lucky boy to be able to live with such special humans! Like you Melissa next door's cat, who only moved in over the summer, is now in the garden a lot. He's doing a lot of the same things as Tiger in the same places, which really knocks me back sometimes, but he's friendly and usually comes over and says hello before going about his business. My lady Slinky has come to terms with things now and is a happy little old lady. Nice to see updates from you all :)

Funny,

My sis had invitro a month ago and they are doing an ultrasound today to find out if there are one or two babies in there. My oldest spends lots of time at my sis's house and yesterday she told me that Kerry has 2 ovens cooking the babies lol. She told me that I only have one oven because I only have one baby inside. She declared long before that Kerry was going to have twins and that their names were going to be leaf and flower. We will have to see if she is right and if she has a boy and a girl and if she will name them leaf and flower.

Funny one, Rhiannon was feeling my belly when the baby started going nuts kicking and punching. You could see the babies movements move my belly all around. Rhiannon's eye's got huge and she couldn't believe how much the baby was moving. She talks to the baby and Peyton wants me to take the baby out so that she can see her new baby brother or sister lol.

My u/s is at 1:30 PST. I'll be sure to let you all know as soon as I get home!

I don't have a feeling either way, but I will say that I would be more surprised if they said girl than I would be if they said boy.

I know if it is a lil girl, Mimi will be sewing up a storm making the cutest lil girlie-girl things ever!
If its a boy she will still be busy sewing, but cute boy things instead of pink and lace! LOL

I have a nephew named Leaf, 'cause he came out so easy.
Of course, Mom and Dad were very much into the hippy life!

1:30 p.m.? That's 3:30 p.m. here. Now just how can I be patient that long? I'll pop long before then.

Can you send a text message to the KT the second you find out? LOL Could you hook the US up to a web cam??? We could have a live broadcast!

I'm so excitied. It's a wonderful BABY and the flavor isn't all that important...but I still want to know...soon!

Will Grant be with you for the ultrasound? Is he old enough to be interested?

No, Grant isn't coming with us. He's not old enough to care and would never sit still long enough for us to have the ultrasound so he's staying with my mom.

Good luck Steph.....for the girl that is! A boy is nice too, many of them! I know! LOL...either way I can't wait to hear. You should be there now...it's 1:15 here. I hope he or she shows the "parts" for you today!

I am anxious to hear the news as well:) I go in on Thursday for the dreaded glucose test and they will do another ultrasound and we will see if the baby decides to show itself this time away. Each other time, it has either mooned us or it had its legs crossed at the ankles and legs close together lol. Really part of me doesn't want to know because I know that the next 3 months will be long because of how big I am already and also with the gallbladder and headache problems.
