I am ashamed to admit that I do not know how to organize closets, drawers, cabinets. I am sooo dang disorganized. My husband will get me organized about every 6 months, but somehow, someway, I will get to being messy again. I am clean, but disorganized! My house "looks emaculate", but don't go looking into the closets, drawers or cabinets. Yikes!

Im ashamed to admit that I do not know how to show love,my parents never grabbed and hugged said they love me, with all the abuse Id put a wall up,I get really strong ,its hard for me now,AND I dont know How to relax.. can we have 2?lol

I'm ashamed that I don't know how to have patience with inconsiderate drivers! I try, really I do, but people who drive in the passing lane with a line of cars behind them just irk me! (especially since they're usually yaking on a phone!)

I'm ashamed that I don't know how to hook up my new TV with cable so that I'm on cable and able to use the remote rather than just on plain no-cable TV!

(Actually, maybe I'm ashamed that I don't know how to describe what I mean in the sentence above!).

I am ashamed to admit that I can't swim, after 3 sessions of lessons and MOSTLY, I didn't finish nursing school - had small kids that needed me.

That I can't tell east, west from north, south. Never learned and still can't grasp something so fundamental! Ugh. If I ever get lost in the middle of nowhere I'm doomed.

I'm ashamed that my garden has become an unsightly mess with weeds and dead whatever in the beds. It's so stinking hot here that I just gave up gardening. I can't keep up anymore and should really just let the beds go or just keep a few.

I'm ashamed that I don't know how to swim! I don't think I even know another adult who can't swim. I've always been very afraid of deep water. I got up my courage a few years ago and took lessons, but didn't practice much. I never liked the way I looked in a bathing suit anyway..

I wouldn't say that I'm "ashamed", embarrassed is more like it.

I'm embarrassed to say that I have no sense of direction. Like schoolhouse, I don't know my directions. When I get someplace, I have trouble re-tracing my route. I can't remember the markings, or don't know what side, the (gas-station) should be on.
I have to remember that I turned right, then left, left, and right ; then go over in my mind the turns that I have to make to come home.

Another directionally challenged here. After 20 years in this office, if I'm giving directions and someone asks me if we are on the North or South side of the street, I have to tell them "we're on the side the lake is on..."

Me too! I have a horrible sense of direction! I'll be taking my dd to a friends' father's house a couple streets away and still have to ask where to turn. I can come out of a parking lot and usually go the wrong way to get back on the road I was on. Drives my kids nuts.

I am ashamed to admit that I can't read a map or even fold the dang thing. I too have to give directions by reference points. Thank goodness for GPS!!

Can't change a tire. Never have and guess I never will.

I can cook enough to get by, and DH and I have balaced meals, but I'm a 'one bowl' cook. If you can't make it in one bowl, or if there's a long list of ingredients...I'm not making it! This probably stems from a having a career mom and being an "eat to live" person, rather than a "live to eat" person. I must be the only woman in the country who doesn't 'get' cooking shows.

Is it a surprise that I don't like to entertain?

PS. I can swim, but not well, and I can find my way *anywhere*, with or without a map. I can also figure out how to assemble things. Last week I figured out how program a Lookbook and how to load library books onto it. (Feeling pretty smug about that.)

I can't crochet. I've been shown how at least 3 times, but never got the knack. I can knit, you'd think I'd be able to crochet. Those who do tell me it's easy, but I can't do any stitch beyond SC.

No sense of direction here either. It's been a problem all my life, and it can be very embarrassing. I can go around the block and not be able to find my way back LOL, and detours are a disaster for me.

GPS is truly a wonderful thing. :)

I'm glad to hear there are other people as directionally challenged as I am. I always turn the wrong way out of a hotel room! I get a little panicy if I see a detour sign. We recently moved to another town, and I'm in a constant state of "which way?!"
Family doesn't understand.

I don't know how to knit. I have needles and yarn and have tried to knit.

No sense of direction here either. Husband is just the opposite. Drop him off anywhere - he'll quickly know which way is North. It's a male thing. But, looking at where the sun is does help.

I love the water - but am a lousy swimmer.

Vicki7.. You are not the only adult that does not know how to swim. I am 61 and i do not know how. I was scared of the water as a kid, and never was really around much water. Then my exhusband tried to drown me in a pool, so i was really scared after that.
I go to a fitness center three times a week for water aerobics classes. I am thinking about signing up for private swim classes too. I don't think I would do well in a group class. For some reason, and I know it is all mental, I just have it in my head that I cannot float. I probably can, I certainly have enough (too much) body fat. haha

Kayjones.... I am worried that even after paying for lessons I still will not be able to swim.

I am also directionally challenged. Foggy.... I worked in a high rise office building for 5 years and every time I stepped out of the elevator, I would turn the wrong way. Every time, so embarrassing.

I'm ashamed that I can't lose 20 pounds and keep it off. I am an emotional eater. I'm ashamed of that too.

Open mouth and insert feet! that is me. love to craft and start a new project, but don't finish. hate housework but like outside work. cook fair, but do not like to go out to eat.

I can totally identify with those who have no sense of direction. When my daughter was around 10 years old, I had to drive her to a doctor in an unfamiliar city once a month due to a condition she had. I am still embarrassed to recall that she had to help me navigate around the streets on many occasions, even after we had been going there many months.

I'm embarassed to admit... when babysitting my 5 yr. old granddaughter, I had to ask her, to remind me how to get to the library!
We had been many times, but I was in her town, and had forgotten. She told me!

To the ones that turn the wrong way when you come out of a store, elevator etc, I'll bet you turn "right"

"right" is the most common direction people turn through a door.

In fact, when I worked trade shows, fairs, etc, through work; I made a point of asking to have my table at the right as people entered. :-)

I don't know as I am ashamed, but I never have driven and never swam. I do have a good sense of direction though.

Vicki7,I'm another that can't swim,and am afraid of even getting in the water and i live close to the beach.I was never allowed to swim when i was a young girl as i had serious ear problems and they didn't want to take a chance on me getting water in it.

I'm scared to death going up and down steep mountain roads in a car and will always try to sit behind the driver so i can't see down,same way with bridges.

I will not go over a draw bridge,no way,no how,i will drive 30 miles out of the way to avoid them.

I do not like height in general,and will never stay in a hotel above the 3rd floor,so we always look for motels.

I'm 73 now and don't ever see things changing!!

jasdip...I read that grocery stores, and others, know people-- go right. They put displays etc., to the right, to take advantage of that fact. Interesting.

I can't get my DVD recorder/player hooked up with sound. No matter what I tried... but think, I need the speaker system for it to work. That of course, is still in storage...

I can swim, and get around without getting lost... but sometimes, I "explore new routes", LOL, meaning, I do get lost at times. :)

I,m a very poor meal planner, never know what to fix, am not organized at all. Don't mind cooking, if I had someone to plan the meals for me. Guess I,m good at directions, can read a map, just wish we would go somewhere, lol!

have always bought/driven automatics..

I'm starting to think I'm not as 'girly' as I always believed!

I can find my way, assemble things, swim AND drive stick shift! (Had to learn stick for my Healey.)

I'm always getting lost. Even buildings that I drive by all the time, can't remember where they are, what corner etc.

Even at 79 years of age, I'm embarrassed to admit that if I didn't have a vaccination scar on my left arm--I often wouldn't know my left from my right!! :>(

However, I do pretty well at giving directions. If I been to a place one time, I can usually tell others how to get there, especially by using those "reference points". :>)

Sad to say I can't play any musical instrument or dance.
Was able to do a few simple dances on roller skates.

Can swim a little, my mother never let us kids go near the water as she couldn't swim and we didn't learn. Learned a little bit after I got married, and learned to water ski.

Could read a map from early on. Our family moved a lot and I was designated map reader from about age 10 on. Have a fair sense of direction.

Can change a tire and have many times, also check the oil, water, brake fluid and air up the tires. Yes, drive a stick shift as all our vehicles have been standard transmission until I got the last one, a van.

I am ashamed to admit that I am afraid of the dark! At my age!! Always afraid something is lurking in the shadows!

Oh and I can't read a map either! If it wasn't for GPS I would still be trying to find my way home from places I went 5 years ago! LOL!!

Like Chisue, I'm a barely passable cook, am terrified of entertaining, but can assemble things and have a great sense of direction.

I,too, have ZERO patience,which is something else I'm ashamed of.

I'm ashamed to admit what I'm ashamed of...but it sure is great to be amongst y'all...LOL...actually I'm ashamed to admit I haven't learned how to can veggies from the garden or make a pie...I can't swim worth a darn but I can float well enough to save myself...

Sad to say, my "true confession" is that 90% of the things listed here apply to me. As well as a few more I can't seem to itemize at the moment.

Can't play the piano - had a sax when a youth: it was left in Korea with the local university.

Not so hot at cooking - but have a bit of a pot that I carry around with me.

Have weeds in the garden that are darn near as tall as I am.

My little Mazda is almost 24 years old ... it's been running pretty well, but was sluggish a couple of weeks ago and left me on the road one night - scarcely crossed a road after "STOP" sign, then died and wouldn't start. Hitch-hiked home - a relative picked me up, then back in the morning, car started right off ... barely ran for a couple of minutes, then faded out. They towed it in, it was firing late (they'd figutred that a few days before when I took it in) and using gas like crazy.

They'd thought that it needed computer upgrading/repairs ...

... but after they towed it in, adjusted the timing belt, and it's running fine.

Stick shift lets me turn it off when a signal light goes yellow, half a block ahead ... and down hills (if there's no one running up my tailpipe).

Darn them small cars! When one goes shopping, they seem to have a habit of hiding in behind the big ones!

That's about all of the foibles that I'm willing to admit to in public.

I am ashamed to admit that I dont know how to use public transportation.
I have flown many, many times, but never hailed a cab, taken a public bus, subway or train.

Also, I am ashamed to admit, I am a minimum person. That is, the minimum of work get done by me in order not to be fired, the minimum of housework, the minimum of relationship maintaining....etc....
