This is a video to a song about our town here.

Many of the buildings in downtown are gone or replaced.

Many are the same...

Most of the old houses still stand...

I know it won't mean anything to you like it does to me...

But this has been my town since 2/8/45....the day I was born...and will be till the day I go "home"

The song is by a local guy. His kids go to school with my grandkids.

I know how you feel about your town. I was born here and never left too. I have so many wonderful memories too. I collect old pictures of my town, some going back to when the roads were dirt when my dad grew up here. I started the collection for him and got caught up in it. I have a few books with pictures and stories that I treasure! There are a series of books called Images of America that feature so many cities in America. Check it out to find yours....well worth it for the memories!

Brian, A larger line doesn't give you more pressure, only more volume. Your faucet coming out of your house is probably a 1/2" line operating at 60 PSI which is pretty common. Plastic pressure regulators aren't needed, IMHO, as you can effectively regulate the pressure with the faucet handle. Just another plastic part to degrade and fail in the hot sun. If you're setting up sprayers, go ahead and crack the sprayer adjustment enough so when you blow through it, some air escapes, then hook everything up and crank the faucet half way open and see how they're covering. The only advantage to high pressure is that the line pressurizes completely sooner than later. As an example, on one run I have eight sprayers, and about two dozen 1-10 gal emitters, and I run full pressure on the faucet, which is coming through a 3/4" galvanized nipple from a 1" PVC water line. The only time you run out of pressure is when you have a lot of large sprayers operating at max output, then they'll drop the pressure downstream quite a bit. Don't forget a vacuum breaker.

It was made for both of his daughters, months before the little girl died. So sad. He tells the story at the end how the song was made because of a bathtub story where the girls kept jumping out of the bubble bath, and he was frustrated. Then, he realized how there would not always be that time where he would get to spend with them, as his older kids were grown up a lot. He is such a wonderful singer and a wonderful Christian man. Well, so far our bear hasn't been back to our front portal. And, yes, it doesn't seem to be the least bit concerned about being found out by us. DYH: Last year, the one that visited us almost nightly tried to eat my ceramic Talavara pottery duck that sat on my coffee table out there, and broke it's neck. No furniture damamaged though, thank goodness! Lobby: OMG, a bear got into your kitchen?!?!? Now that's scary! And messy! I can imagine the slobber it left behind! Our bears like to drink out of our birdbaths (one in front and one in the back). I can always tell when they've been here because the birdbaths contain nothing but slobber in the morning. Mtn: I like the Ring Doorbell a lot. It wasn't the easiest thing to install, but once in, it's been nice when I'm running errands and get a notification that someone is at my door. But, there are a couple of things I'm not crazy about. The field of vision is programmable and I had to initially narrow mine significantly, as it was notifying me every time a breeze rustled my potted plants outside the door. Or, when a larger bird, such as a dove or pinon jay would land nearby. But, once I found the 2 bears in my back yard several weeks ago, though, I opened the range of vision back up, but silenced it from verbally notifying me of any movement. Not the best idea, either. I'm now setting it to verbally announce any person, but not any movement. Oly, I'm not sure that anything would deter bears from wandering up here, except eliminating all food and water. We're now religiously taking in the bird feeders every night at dusk, and putting them back out after 8AM. But, we're huge bird lovers and lso enjoy being able have food and water for the many species that frequent our house and property. Tina: those plants are Karl Foerster Calamagrostis or Feather Reed Grass, an tall ornamental grass that can be grown in many areas of the country. It's not rabbit resistant, though, and foraging rabbits may eat smaller plantings. Justerrilynn: OMG, that newborn cub is adorable, but it sure doesn't look like a bear at that age!

Lily, you have no idea!!! I didn't even tell people in my area when they were filming here. It was just our street. So my Village didn't know. I wanted people to know, and I really didn't want them to know. I wanted them to leave her alone, but it was so freaking exciting! When they were going down the street in the wagon, I went out and snuck my car away so it wouldn't be in their shots. It ended up being in one. Security was so funny, they said "Don't you want to be on camera?" And I screamed no!!!!! as I snuck my car into the backyard. Did you see the two part season opener of This is Us? What the heck was that last moment in the second episode?! Oh my goodness!!!!!!

I'll have to check at the mall (Barnes and Noble) to see if they have that book...

About 30 some years ago someone in our town thought it would be a good idea to wipe out several of the old buildings downtown and build a mall...The mall failed and the built a new one on the east end of town. Now they are building a new kind of mall...not connected but a bunch of stores in the same area. Several have left the east end mall for the new place.

Anyway it just ruined our old town. One of the buildings was a Hotel that Abe Lincoln stayed in when he passed through...several times.

It's a shame...I love the old towns, the ones that keep it that way! My town has had many changes, sad to see the old look fade away. it is fun to collect the old pictures. I got a lot from our town's historian, that's how I found out about the book, he wrote it for the organization making this series of books. Our mayor is a friend of ours and he let me go through the pictures in the basement of the city hall too...that was cool! Lot's of old memories there!

That's nice Pattico. I like the video and enjoyed seeing the pictures. I envy you living in the town in which you were born. I was born in Memphis. From the time I was born until I was in my 20s Memphis was referred the a "big " little town. It was clean and it was pretty. It won city beautiful contests for several years. There were beautiful old buildings. In the 60s the crime rate began to grow and it gets worse every year. Now crime is almost all Memphis is famous for. It makes me sad.
