Were you pleased with the outcome??? I was ok with it but I was pulling for another one...I won't give the results now in the event you haven't seen it yet.

Hey, I can swear with the best of you, although I rarely do. Raising a bunch of boys after their father died taught me the value of 'holding my tongue', as it were. Once in a blue moon, when I'd had enough and really let loose, the effect was electrifying. Just as sherrmann described, my sons' friends still talk in hushed and awed tones about the time "Miz B told Jason to take his sorry azz and all his chit out of her house and never, ever bring his effing scumbag self back". They were in such a state of shock, they barely said a word for 2 days afterwards. rofl Okay, not exactly the language my mother taught me. But I caught Jason with dope, so Southern manners were the least of my concerns, right? I'm just fine with 'salty' language, as long as nobody is around who would be offended. For instance, I'd never insult my 90-year-old great aunt by using words that would upset her. (You may call that hypocrisy. I call it courtesy.) What I'm not okay with, under any circumstances, is crude language. And the word "snot" is painfully crude, particularly when used to describe food. Turns my stomach (and I don't have a weak one!) sm P.S. And I have to add that comparing Julia Child's voice to coarse language is THE most ridiculous 'strawman' evah!!!

I was rooting for Reggie, but I think Guy did do a little better job in his pilot demo. I saw the pilot demos again last night and lagatella was right -- he did address the audience as girls!!! How did I miss that, and what was he thinking??? They were both very worthy and I'd watch both of them if they had their own shows. I was surprised to see he will have a contract of only 6 episodes, but I guess that's to give it a trial run and see how it goes. If he does a lot of calimari and other things like that that I don't like, that will be it for me. I do want to try the chicken recipe Reggie did in his pilot, that looked delicious. Jen

Yep Penny definitely has attitude. Yeah attitude, that's it. LOL The women this time are getting on my nerve with the whining they do. The scene from next week when Penny meow/cat snarls at the other woman made me laugh. If she doesn't step up the showmanship next week I'll bet she'll be gone. Last nights show was good. I'm really wanting to try the cole slaw I don't care that much for mayo either but I like creamy dressing on slaw. Even though it is still early in the game I'm guessing Susie and Vic for finalists. Both excellent chefs just need to get that TV-face and personality up and running. I think they are both intelligent, serious about making the grade and acting professional. LIL

I was looking forward to it all day and then I forgot it!! It will be on here again later, I'll catch it then. I really didn't have a favorite of the two remaining so I'm not too excited about whoever the winner is.

I've been catching up on the Marathon all day..It's not the finale yet..I know who I think people think it should be, but after Amy's UNSUCCESS..I'm betting the FoodNetwork will go in a VERY different direction..

One of the losers from prior episodes of Next Star is getting a new show on Food Network starting in October. It's called "Chef Jeff" and he's the tall black guy. Proves that even if you lose on one show, it's not "the end". By the way- SPOILER ALERT_ I was rooting for Lisa to win. She's so pretty and so edgy-I think we'll be seeing more of her!

Hey, what ever happened to Amy? I think I saw one show of hers and she was gone.

Didn't they let the viewers vote before and that's how she won? Maybe thats why they didn't do that this time and made the decision themselves.

Spoiler or not, I missed the final show. Who won? I guess I was pulling for the young blond gal, (I'm terrible about remembering names) but being shes gone, I didn;t have a real fav of the ones left. Thanks for any info. Dottie

When it came down to the final three, DH and I were both hoping for the outcome that actually occurred, but really doubted that one would win. All along I had a love/hate relationship with Lisa (did she think it was cute the way she kept squinting her eyes?), but in the end she really shot a great pilot. I would have been happy with any of the three winning.

It happened exactly how I figured it would.

Big Daddy will do well..
He reminds me of a guy who has a Grilling/BBQ show called Rob. He has this great set up in his back yard and entertains well it seems.. :o)

I just started watching this season. I didn't know Guy Fieri was a previous winner!
I'm satisfied with the winner this time. I'll give his show a try.

I had to go to FoodTV to find out who won. Watched it to the end then missed it! I'm soooooo happy! It'll be a good show.

I thought Lisa would win. I haven't been impressed with Aaron until the last couple episodes. I'll be anxious to see his show in a week.

I certainly was not for Lisa, she was so much into herself. I think Aaron had really improved and would have been a great host. In the end the best came out the winner.

Just finished watching, as I dvr'd it from last nite.
Kinda surprised Aaron won!
All three were great!
Lisa was my least favorite!
