Live in mission viejo and all my plants are starting to wake up. My blueberry plants are loaded with tons of flowers as well.

By the way, how big do you wait for your seedlings to get? At least a couple of sets of true leaves. Do the plants fight it out and the strongest wins? Or do you have to thin out eventually. I plant hunks and I really don't thin. Maybe a few die off but most seem to continue to grow and grow. My go-to filler is whatever is volunteering in my yard. So often melampodium, coral nymph salvia, rud hirta. Basically whatever pops up. Karen

Jennifer1, I thought I'd sent a reply, but it's not appearing -- it sounds like there's some root problems, maybe due to poor drainage, or that, like you said, it's not getting enough sun. How many hours of direct sun does it receive? I wouldn't advise digging it up just to check the roots yet, but is the ground around it always wet, or are there flooded areas nearby after it rains? This is the first year DH and I will be alone at Christmas. I'm not looking forward to it. It will be too quiet, but that's the way it is. I'll let you know how it goes. Glad you get to have at least one baby there. Enjoy the others Christmas Eve. Does that mean you have to cook twice?
