I too have only met Judy, Nita, and Joan of the group. After I get a new car, and have dependable wheels of my own, I'll be getting to come to more of these. I know you had a great time.

Judy & Tom, thanks so much for the hospitality, the good food (and that salsa should be put on the market, KT Salsa???? it was great). Oh and thanks for putting everything together. "Simple" you called it but I know it was a lot of work for you and it's very much appreciated. And a complete success. Great idea and great planning. You're in charge of all get-togethers from now on!! ;) Seriously though, a BIG round of applause to you! I had a really great time and it was really fun to meet everyone. Good job of balancing out the table too to keep the wind velocity under control! ;)

Should have included the other participant, the "mouse" Riley in the pictures! :) Wouldn't like the poor little guy will get a complex and feel neglected.

BTW, I got up to Crosby, they weren't home so I got home much earlier than expected. Safe and relaxing trip back. Didn't have the traffic I encountered on the way up. And one roommate is sitting next to me welcoming me back home. And I just heard the other fella calling.

We had a wonderful time! Judy's house is SO nice, and they had almost everything unpacked and arranged (and after moving only a week ago!).
It was so nice seeing people I knew and people I knew but just hadn't met face-to-face!

Menu:
broasted chicken, potato salad, beans, chips and dip, lemonade, cookies and Judy's home-made brownies.
Judy made the salsa and Nita made a fabulous artichoke dip.

Now I am going to go copy that recipe for artichoke dip down before I forget it!

Hopefully, I'm remembering this right!

2 cans of artichokes, drained and broken up.
1 cup mayo, 1 c. parmesan cheese, 1 c. mozzarella cheese. A little garlic.
Mix, bake (Nita will have to give us the temp and time).
Hope I am remembering this right. When Nita checks in, she can check up on this!

OK, now we need Judy's fresh salsa recipe, too....both were fantastic, as was the company.

This is Nita.

Actually the artichoke recipe came from the KT. I think it was Steph in CA that originally posted it. Joan has all the ingredients right and I baked it at 350º for about 20 minutes or until it is golden brown on the edges and bubbly.

Joan and the rest of the folks at the get together yesterday...we were hoping that you guys would post some pictures also. I know folks were taking random shots so would be nice to see them.

What a great looking group. Just blows my mind that I lived in St. Cloud for 50+ years, and here I am in Washington, 1333 miles away from the fun.

Fresh Fruit & Vegie Salsa
________________________

1/4 cup salad vinegar
dash lemon juice
2 slices med onion
1 T minced garlic
1 T grenadine (that cherry stuff used in some drinks)
2 T corn syrup or sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp cilentro
1/4 tsp chilli powder

Blend (I use a blender for all of it)

Add:
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
5 Roma tomatoes cut up
1 firm apple cored & chopped

Blend on low/med until chopped

I use a blender to make this, but I think a food processer would be perfect.

Thank you for all the nice comments, it was a fun time and I'm so glad we kept it "SIMPLE." It made it easy for those coming and also for us. On top of all that ease we were able to make all the noise we wanted by not being in a restraunt.

Riley "the mouse" cynic mentioned, is our grandson's dog. On top of everything else we were asked to babysit the dog while they went on vacation for the weekend. I didn't bother to mention him to everyone, and he arrived after everyone was here. Joan heard those toenails on the floor under the table and thought we had some good sized mice in this house! LOL

The meal was just a MN picnic (ordered from a grocery.)
I wont go throught it all because Joan already did.
I must say I'm not too good at figuring out how much chicken is needed! We have a lot of left overs. The meal only cost $6.00 each. That sure worked out great.

Flamingo! LOL I didn't actually notice, but they must be dirty because she brought a beautiful fresh picked bouquet of homegrown flowers.

When I said our food was all MN picnic, I forgot to mention that Nita had to add that AZ flare! I told her that people in MN don't eat artichokes! I told her she would be lucky to be able to find them in the store! ........... Then all these MN peeps BLEW MY FRONT, because when she put it out everyone was saying OOOOOH I love artichokes! Yum YUm! and all that stuff. OK, I tried it (and I really gave it a chance) but I really don't like artichokes, even when you try to hide them in cheese! Well, some of our folks weren't even originally from MN! LOL

Shall I pass the plate of leftover chicken?

Awww man I wish I'd been there!I'd have loved to have gotten together and meet more KT peeps!! But Drew would have never made the trip! We had birthday get together here for my DH and Drew went bowling for his first time and had a blast!!

LOL, Flamingo. Yes, they're usually always dirty. Originally, my name was dirtygirl, My DH's nickname for me. But I thought it sounded too risque' and changed it. And DH didn't mean it in a racy way. He remembers the time I planted tulips in a rain/sleet/snow storm and was muddy from top to bottom. Only one of many "dirty" times.

I may have been Caroline's first KT person to meet (and had two lovely visits at their home - and she fed me, both times) but she sure met a lot of other friendly KT people soon after that!
