Gosh, I'm sorry to hear that. Grew up with Walter giving us the nightly news. RIP, dear Walter.

I most liked him for the old radio programs called YOU ARE THERE

He and others narratated events in history as theough they were right on the scene. I loved them when a kid. I thought you all might like to schedule a listen for your home schooling

I loved his news shows. He seemed like a very ethical, intelligent man. A real loss to CBS when he retired from the evening news. I will catch the network news in 10 minutes and see what they say about his life.

His voice and calm manner always comforted me, no matter what the news story was. Sad, but he lived a good life and made it to age 92.

I can still hear his voice "And that's the way it is." God bless him.

CBS Evening News, network, devoted the whole half hour of news to him. I enjoyed watching it. They are dedicating 7pm, 6pm Central, to an hour about him on Sunday. I have set the Tivo for it. That is in place of 60 Minutes.

I loved Walter Cronkite. He was the last and best journalist we've ever had.

Another person in the era I grew up in is gone. I don't think they have journalist like him around anymore.JMHO Too bad, as I thought he was ethical and trustworthy.

I'll always remember him on air, telling about President Kennedy's death and the emotion in his voice. RIP Mr Cronkite. Dottie

Someone on the Today Show mentioned that he was one of the rare, unbiased news reporters. I agree.
