I have a cuisinart 12 cup and love it. I don't use it much though.

Whether or not you keep it is a personal choice. If you would be more comfortable with a KitchenAid, I say go for it.

I have a 7-cup Cuisinart. It's big enough for my needs. I've had it a couple of years and it, along with my Food Saver are the only two appliances on my countertops. I use it more than I thought I would. And it was only $79.95 on sale!

Two weeks ago I used it to make bread crumbs and I couldn't get the bowl off the base no matter how hard I tried. I didn't want to force it too much for fear I'd break the bowl. So I e-mailed their customer service dept. and got a reply a few days later. I tried what they said and the bowl did release from the base without breaking. It wasn't under warranty but there was no charge for their advice. I was happy with the service.

I have the 11 cup Kitchen Aid food processor. I really do like mine and use it a lot. I have had it a few years and it was a gift to me.

I just have a small 2 cup, that I us for chopping nuts, etc.

Never felt the need for one of those large food processors.

Mine's the KA with both large and small bowl, and a lot of attachments. I don't really like it as well as my old cheapie Regal. For some reason, the KA is cumbersome and hasn't held up that well--the lid has split. It's still useable, but I really need to replace it soon.

All in all, though, I find myself using a FP less and less. I don't like the irregular job they do chopping food (a board and knife is quicker, easier to clean up, AND gives more uniform, perfect results). I use one of my 3 KA mixers for mixing--don't like doing any flour mixtures in the FP as that develops the gluten too much, usually.

I had a larger GE for many, many years, and used it often. It finally died, and I couldn't find a replacement. Since I have only myself to cook for, I opted for the 3-cup KA, and just love it. A number of kin and friends have purchased one after seeing mine, and they are also very happy with their choice. It really is so fast that I can do another processing if need be.

I've had my 11-cup Cuisinart for 10 years now. I use it at least twice a week. It's a workhorse, and I love it. They are fine machines, and very reliable.

But if you want a KitchenAid, go get one. I'm puzzled that you just didn't buy one in the first place.

To answer the question. I have a Kitchenaid a Vitamix, and received a Ninja for Christmas. I do not use any of them. I do not like to clean them after use.

I have a large Cuisinart I have had it for years and rarely have used it. Paid a lot for it back when I got it.

The one I use every week and sometimes daily is the smaller Black and Decker one that stays on my counter in my kitchen. It has an amazingly powerful motor in it and it is so easy to use and clean up. Price was excellent, picked it up at walmart.

I have never had one because I don't have space to store it. I do have some small chopper devices, immersible blender thingie too, and a blender. Not a big, fancy food processer though.

I have a Cuisinart I have had since 1983.....I use it a lot and it has served me well.
I would buy another one.

At present I'm caring for a female canine for a friend ...

... and she, being a runner and busy, likes to process food.

I have a hand-held mixer (not sure of the variety) that I seldom use.

Storing their Mom's for the kids ... is it a Sunbeam? ... but the catch has broken and one can't attach it to the stand.

I think that she had it prior to our parting, just over 40 years ago.

Someone mentioned they were hard to clean. I have not found that to be true as all the parts except the base of course go into the dishwasher, top shelf. I too have the mini bowl and lots of disks for it. I never put mine away.

My Cuisinart is almost 30 years old and works fine. Just remember neither Cuisinart nor Kitchenaid are the same manufacturers that made our older appliances.

Cuisinart is now part of Conair and Lifetime Brands and KitchenAid is owned by Whirlpool.

The top 5 rated by Consumer Reports are 3 by cuisinart and 2 by KitchenAid.

I Was aware that kitchen aide was now made by whirlpool, and that my old kitchenaide food processer was actually made by kitchenaide. Someone ask the question WHY I did not go with kitchenaide in the first place since I was familiar with the kitchenaide and that was one of the reasons why...also like I said before, I was looking at a cooking show on t.v. and they were using cruisinart. That is why I thought I would like a cruisinart instead of a kitchenaide. Then I had second thoughts, as I had told my SIL that I had bought a cruisinart, and she told me she had, had more problems with her cruisinart. I started questioning my choice, so I Thought I could come on here to get a vast number of opinions. I am going to keep my cruisinart...actually used it today, and really like it. Either my K.A. was wearing out for awhile or this is just a tougher machine. Also nice and quiet. Looking through your responses, I found more people satisfied with the Cruisinart than the kitchen aide. So thanks for your help. Much appreciated!! Your opinion of appliances counts with me! That is the #l thing I like about the K.T. and would read alot of your suggestions and opinions before I EVER started posting. Again thank you.

I have the same one as ravencajun, the dual set from Black & Decker. Got it for $59.00 last fall and I love it. Very easy to clean I find.
I do have a Kitchen Aide mixer though that I also use a lot and love.
