World's Longest Yard Sale

Is anyone else going to the World's Longest Yard Sale this year? It stretches from Gadsden, Alabama to Michigan and it's held August 4-7. This will be my fifth year going and I can't wait. Last year I bought 4 or 5 homemade quilts, a beautiful old set of graduated Pyrex mixing bowls, a hallway rug, and lots of other things. We ran into the HGTV crew in Crossville, Tennessee while they were filming there.

This event is not for everyone. It's hot, crowded and the traffic is terrible. But if you love to go to yard sales and you have the stamina and lots of patience it's a wonderful trip. Yes, you will see a lot of junk - things no one should be trying to sell, but that's part of the fun. And there are wonderful stops along the way; an Amish restaurant near Liberty, Kentucky that also sells home-made bread for example.

So, any other adventurous souls out there?
