Oh My Goodness...Thank you Glenda! If you had not posted that reminder that the new season was starting last night, I would have missed it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

So...the new season has started! It always takes some time to get use to the new faces on the show but, I think we will see some very different stuff this season. I thought the dying of the vacuum cleaner bags was awesome and original. The cup dress was very different but well done, if you like a dress made of plastic cups. I liked the yellow dress with the vegetable 'garnish'. Take off the veggies and make the dress out of fabric and you would have a very nice dress. I saw some other stuff that was interesting also. But...those bottom three were just AWFUL! Of those three I would have sent home garbage bag girl or diaper boy before I would have sent home shower coat man. Good first show.

I think it is going to be a good season. I would have sent home diaper boy last night...but all three of them were bad. Why is it that fashion designers are freaky in their own right...They are just so outlandish that I am turned off by so much of their stuff and the way they look and act.

I agree that diaper boy should have gone. But the loser, "trash bag woman" just draped the trash liners over her model and that was that. The first elimination is usually horrible anyway. I can't wait until they start making honest to goodness fashion, with fabric!

The group is very diverse this year. I hope it's a good season considering that they are moving to Lifetime next year and some of the usual players may not be following....

I love Project Runway! It's a fun summer TV viewing as well.

I just picked up sn old 08 for peanuts. Barn fresh... it's seen little use. Put a new plug in it and it fired right up. It'll be a shop decoration, no way would I cut with this saw. If I'm not mistaken they sold string trimmer attachments and a few others with this saw and it's still in production in South America. Interesting piece of history but I'd pass on it if: 1) I needed a safe, dependable saw for production use 2) I didn't work at a Stihl dealer and could get parts at cost. (I do and can) The 08 came stock set up for .404 chain. Running .404 chain with a 3.39 cube powerhead is well.....inefficient to say the least. Outsmarting the tree rats (squirrels) around my house is a full time job. This past spring I hit on a new idea. When I plant a container I invert an empty wire hanging basket over the container and the plant gets sun and can be watered but the squirrels can't dig in it. Another idea: I bring in a lot of plants to "over winter" under lights in my garage. I have so many that it is hard to reach my hand under the lights (4 shop lights) to the middle for watering. So I bought a pump sprayer with a long wand and it works great! In late winter I add a little liquid Dawn detergent, few drops, to each gallon of water and not only does the soil get wet easier but the worms that are waiting to hatch into distructive pets just don't hatch. Don't know what it costs me to run those four shop lights all winter but I don't care. It is a small price to pay to be able to "garden" every weekend in the garage. Many people have mentioned that they mark their outdoor plants with a "permanent Sharpie". In my experience there isn't a "permanent Sharpie", they all fade and quickly too. A grease pencil/china marker or expensive "no fade" garden center marker are the only markers I have found that won't disappoint you by fading. Eight years ago I decided to learn about gardening so I tapped into my local library. I checked out nearly every book they had on gardening and learned so much. The Gardenweb forums are also a wealth of information and entertainment. There is always something new to learn and I appreciate all of you who take the time to write in your ideas. One last idea from me...I keep a small notebook on my computer table and jot down any idea I find that's new and I will want to try. Little pieces of paper get lost but I always know where my notebook is and also use it when I order "on line" so I will remember the name of the company and the order date. Tina or Trowelgal

I am so glad I saw this post because I had no idea the season started. They replayed the episode this morning and I was able to see it, and set my Tivo to record all of them so I wont forget anymore.

I liked the first episode...the diaper boy is annoying, but there's always one of them. I think the guy with the plastic cup dress is probably very talented.

You know what I liked BEST about this new season???? The new people aren't constantly needing to be "bleeped" for tossing the "bomb". What a refreshing change for Project Runway. I had to stop watching Shear Genius after the first episode this year....my ears couldn't take anymore. Sooooo pleased with the first episode of Project Runway!!!So far, I wouldn't even need to be careful that none of the grandkids came into the room while I was watching it.

Glad you posted about it...I'd forgotten it was starting this month. Although I didn't really like the vacuum cleaner bag dress, the designer really did pull out all the stops in choosing and manipulating odd things such as dyes and bleach, push pins and spiral bindings. Who'da thunk? I thought the blue plastic cup dress was adorable.

There's quite a controversy since PR is moving to Lifetime TV this fall. Evidently quite a fight between the networks.

Already I can't stand the pseudo-surfer tanned guy with a scary smile who has appropriated the word "delicious", akin to Christian's use of "fierce" last year, which was certainly original, but a repeat this year with a different word isn't very original at all.
