Braun Coffee Grinder
Comments (1)This link has directions for a grinder similar to your Braun. The instructions will be the same. Use as a guideline and adjust the amount if you prefer a stronger coffee. Ann. Here is a link that might be useful: Coffee Grinder...See MoreNeed coffee maker - not a Kuerig!
Comments (28)We had, and loved, our Technivorm Moccamaster CD. Unfortunately its reliability was terrible. The rocker switches froze and the wires got so hot they burned through the insulation eventually causing the machine to quit. This happened twice, on the original 1.5 year old machine, then about a year after that on the replacement. We did a refurb swap two times, with both of those machines also quitting. That was the end of the road for us with Technivorm. It may have just been this particular model; other TV models seem to last much longer. We did French Press for about a year, and now we're using a Bunn Phase Brew (8 cup, thermal carafe, although I use the TV glass pot). The coffee's not quite as good as the TV but it'll do, and it was 1/3 the price....See MoreStoring Coffee?
Comments (20)Tastes differ, that's for sure. For those happy with canned coffee, or who purchase coffee in large quantities that are then "around the house" for any period of time, doing anything other than what you normally do probably wouldn't matter to you. It does matter to me. Coffee is a food product, its volatile flavor and aroma components degrade over time. How much time? The local coffee roaster where I buy my stuff says 10 days is the maximum shelf life. With even more time, to add insult to injury, the oils can become rancid and then it really has an off flavor. Before then, it's just losing its normal flavor and aroma. I buy a week's worth at a time. What I (or you) keep it in doesn't matter, unless you put it into a container that you fill with something like nitrogen to prevent oxidation. The biggest villain to be concerned with is time, not anything else. An airtight lid doesn't add any value because there's already air in the container. A refrigerator or freezer may slow down the oil turning but it's not going to do much to help freshness....See MoreCappucino/latte maker recommendations?
Comments (5)The OP may not be looking a week later, and this may be out of the range of possibilities, but I wanted to pass along just in case or in case anyone else is looking for a way to stop waiting lines for their favorite coffee drinks. This is a pretty good price on a machine that grinds and brews as well as steams the milk or a variety of drinks. We have a different Jura, but I was looking at the instruction manual (link is online) and this little package does all most folks would need. They are dependable and easy to maintain too. Like I said above, these refurbished units come with a warranty and are a great way to buy a fancier machine. We have bought refurbished -- they keep going for years and they can be serviced if you ever run into a problem (the techs will walk you through anything you can check yourself before having you send it in). The purchase is a big gulp -- I get that, but if you stop for coffee frequently, it doesn't take long to realize a payoff. This one is being offered directly by Jura, but 1st in Coffee also offeres the refurbished units (I buy water filters from them and ordered some new milk tubes from Jura -- seem to have gotten on both mailing lists)....See Morechisue
