I agree with you. It's very good.

it is the ONLY way we do it now... for years, I shucked them, wrapped in plastic wrap and micro'd for 2 minutes an ear..... this is so much better!

It didn't work for me, and too hot to touch after boiling.No, er, I mean it was too hot to handle after being microwaved. Silly me. I used to be a blonde.

I bought some corn and am anxious to try it tonight. Sounds great! I'm getting confused, though. Jannie, you said it is too hot after boiling. At what point do we boil the corn? I thought it was only microwaved. What am I missing?

There is no boiling. Put in microwave in the husk, cut the end off really good, so it is clear of any part of the stalk. Microwave each ear 4 minutes on HI.

It IS hot, so when you get hold of the cut end, use a kitchen towel or glove to shake the corn out onto a dish.

The best way ever to do this. I couldn' wait to give my DD a dozen and show her how easy this was. I'm going to try to freeze them in their husk and see how they turn out.

Do you rinse it or anything? I also worry about how microwaving affects the food in terms of nutrients, though I suppose corn isn't really eaten for nutritional value!

Ok, just did it. No lunch so early supper. My verdict?

PERFECTION! I always eat my corn on the cob plain, anyway (no salt, pepper, or butter) so that didn't factor into my opinion. But, oh my, so tender and delicious.

Tried it, and it was good, but wayyyy overcooked, and a tad on the dry side. Our Panasonic is a 1200 Watt, and 4 minutes/cob was too much, so next time going to try it at 3 minutes/cob.

Very good hint Glenda, and keeps the kitchen much cooler, lol!

justlinda, maybe your's is a higher wattage,, I don't know what mine is. Mine was crunchy, just the way I like it and when I took it out of the micro it was steaming at the top.

Meant to say that you shake the corn by the SILK end and it comes out like this. This is actually my photo of corn I cooked the other Sunday as it was sliding out.

After hearing on another thread about the amount of pesticide use on corn, we peeled off the outer 3-4 leaves and then microwaved it.

It was pretty good.

I'll give it another try.

Can you do two ears for eight minutes or should you do them separately at 4?

Two ears for 8 minutes is how I did it.
