When someone posts to a very old thread.......

Quite a few times I've received an email showing a new post to an old thread of mine. Sometimes the thread is about my rose thorn infection, and I received another of these this morning. The problem is when I go to the designated forum to add my reply to the thread, I can't find it.

This time the thread is titled Rose thorn infection? (On me, not rose.) and it's supposed to be at the KT. Can anyone tell me how to find it? The search function didn't help.

I just did a google search with your Rose Thorn title and that thread came up first. You'll be able to post on it doing it that way.

I read the original posting but cannot find it. Try this link as it covers the subject pretty well. http://homeharvest.com/oasisinstructions.htm They are advertising their cubes but any that will absorb water are fine.

This used to only happen to me when I posted two in a row (when I thought of something I forgot to include) so I would add a "P.S...." in the subject line of the 2nd post to get around the message. Lately though, I'll get that message when I've posted, several others have posted after me, and I post again. In one thread there were maybe 5 other's responses between my initial post and my second one. Very odd. Changing the subject line still works, tho.

Check the date on posts! Very old posts come up cause we post on them

As a previous poster commented "some times there's good advice on the old threads". Yup, and perhaps in the meantime while you're reading all those old posts you're missing out on some relevant, up-to-date good advice on the newer threads.......I say "read those old threads, but please don't make any new posts/comments on them.....PLEASE!"

PS: I replied to the thread, but it still doesn't show up here. So I don't know how the poster is going to read my response--unless s/he takes the Google approach.

My questions is this: How do you receive the email saying you have a reponse? I asked that question way back when I rejoined and was told you just have to keep checking the thread. I knew there had to be an easier way!

The person's email address was used.. misbettyboop@msn.com You could email her. Reading through that entire thread, you'd think everyone would realize how dangerous it can be and would just get to the doctor.

Juellie, IF you start a thread you just check the box right below your posting that says Check here if you would like copies of follow-ups to your message emailed to you.. If you didn't start the thread you have to keep checking it to see replies.

Checking the box doesn't always work either. The last few times I wanted to get emails on one of my threads, I never got any.

Checking the box hasn't been working for me. A long time ago I stopped getting notifications, and I emailed the GW and advised them and they fixed it. This past winter I stopped getting notifications again, and I've emailed them twice but they haven't fixed it or responded.

Thanks Lydia, but that hasn't worked for me....guess I keep checking. Just wondered because every other board I've been a part of has had some sort of notification system. I don't want to appear rude if I don't answer someone's questions. :)

Sometimes checking that box just doesn't always work. I will get some replys but not all. You could always make a note of it and check back. Pain I know.
