Lisa, I've noticed your name on some posts here, but thought I had missed an introductory post. Welcome to KT. I hope you will tell us a little ( or a lot ) about yourself.
As for myself, I'm a 60 year young woman who retired from my job last December after 37 years. I have 1 daughter, 4 step kids, 10 grandkids, 3 dogs. I've been married to my second dh a little over 12 years. I live in Mississippi.

Like Linda, I thought I missed your introductory post. I was without a computer for 3 weeks or so, when mine took a dive.
I retired from the same company as Linda, but in different cities. I had 30 years in, and I'm 63. My DH passed away in 1999. I have 4 daughters, and 10 grandkiddies.. (4 girls & 6 boys) ranging from 19 yrs. to 9 mo. I have 1 dog, Toby and 2 cats, Blossom and Coco. I love going to my cabin on the Missouri river, Eastern Bluebirds and flowers. I live in Nebraska, and love to travel in the winter, with my Mom, to anywhere warmer.

Lisa, we are glad to have you in our kitchen! I currently live in western Missouri, but will be moving to western FLORIDA around Sept. 1st of this year.

I retired from the non-profit sector on Feb. 14th of this year. I have three bio-boys (ages 32, 34, and 36) and a stepson (age 18).

I have two PRECIOUS grandsons (ages 4 and 6), who are spending the summer with me. My dog is named Harley - a BEAUTIFUL border collie/springer spaniel mix.

OH GEE! What a great welcome! Thank you! Grammahony told me about this place a few years back. We cross paths on one of the birding forums. So here goes as brief as possible.
I am married to my second husband. He was my High School Sweetheart. (should have done that in the first place) I am 49. 5 yr anniversary coming in Sept.
No 2 legged kids, 2 indoor only cats, one elderly dog, Akita Coyote mix, (the last of my 30+ foster dogs).
Grew up in Michigan. Was a competitive Figure Skater, Coach, Ice Arena Manager. Also involved in special Olympics as a coach /chaperone since High School.
Ended up running Ice Arenas in Colorado Springs for 12 yrs. Got divorced after 20 yrs from hubby #1. (you change so much in 20 yrs & no kids to bind us, we parted friends).
Got tired of Corporate America and the cut throat of Figure Skating and the Ice Arena biz so went back to my Social Work roots.
I have always known I was Adopted and searched nearly 20 years for my Birth Mom (with my MOTHERS HELP). When My Sister found me ( I was 41) I had my Colorado Springs home up for sale so I moved to Iowa to be with them.(my Birth Mother raised my full blooded Sister and they live near each other).I also found out at that time I am Cherokee, whoda thunk? I was a 1800-Medicare rep there and fell in love with working with Seniors.
2 years later I was reunited with my first love and now I am back in Michigan where I started.
I had always been a city gal till DH plucked me from Iowa and brought me back home. We are in the woods away from city life and I LOVE it. This is where I became a Bird Watcher / Nature Lover. I work at home as an Advocate for Seniors and specialize in assisting with Medicare health care options as well as coordinate resources for low income elderly folks. I also am a home business owner as a Xango distributor ( a product that has helped with my sinus/ allergy and arthritis problems).
Laws are different from State to State but if any of you ever have questions about Senior Services, Medicare, or just how to find help with something, I am here to volunteer as much help and information as I can.
Again, thank you so much for the warm welcome and all the prayers and good thought for my Birth Mom.

Thanks for sharing your story. My half sister searched us out and found our mom (and me) in her late 30s, so I can relate to your search for your birth mother. She always knew she was adopted, but I had never known I had a sister. Talk about a big surprise, and we are very good friends now.
