I found lots of starfish on the beach yesterday

There are just a few of the lillies that are still blooming.

Has anyone tried to cut them back after they have bloomed to bloom again? My sis said that that would work...I cut some back last night....we will see. (DH doesn't think it will work, but I figured we had nothing to lose!)

This is a photo of me in 1984 at an art installation in LA by my favorite art teacher Slater Baron also known as "The Lint Lady". She created entire scenes and "paintings" using nothing but lint. This particular installation was dedicated to her parents who were both suffering from Alzheimers. Slater was such a hit at the time that she was featured on several TV shows like "Real People" and "That's Incredible". To this day I can't clean out my dryer lint trap without thinking of her. :-) She and I reconnected five years ago and she is now on my Facebook friend list. Very cool lady. Jodi-

Karen, above each Photobucket picture you'll see Edit : Move: Share : Delete. Click on Edit, and you'll be taken to a screen where you can resize. Start by clicking the Resize button. The easiest way to resize is to use one of the Preset Sizes. Click the little arrow to see the drop-down menu of sizes. Something close to 640 x 480 is usually best. Once you've chosen the size, click on either Replace Original or Save a Copy (the latter saves the original size, too). These are located underneath the photo. Hope this is clear.

We had dear friends come visit us last weekend for my birthday. We are trying to convince them to move closer to us where it is cooler (they live in Palm Springs now). We drove them all around south Orange County, took in the Laguna Beach Sawdust Festival and drove up and down the coast.

In a beach town ten miles from our home named Corona Del Mar there is a residence my husband calls the Whale House. It's incredible wood shake roof is shaped like a whale's head with a small window for an eye and a row of teeth overhanging a wall that looks much like baleen. It's tough to get a good photo of it, but here it is.

Casey,I love that starfish. I didn't know that they came in such bright colors.

Alisande, I followed a butterfly like that for an hour yesterday. He couldn't seem to decide where to land, and I gave up. I am sure that you got a better pic than I would have. A question for you. You gave the info on the micro lens that you are using on your Panasonic Lumix camera a couple days ago. Can you tell me what model your camera is? I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7. I am wondering if that lens would work for it.

Bigack, It amazes me that so few people realize that it is the dog that is walking the people, not the other way around.

Jodi, I can't imagine why anyone would even think to put a roof like that their house. Neat looking I must admit.

Bee Balm is Monarda, and Gazania's is gorgeous!! I have several different kinds and I love them all, but they never look as beautifully shaped as the one pictured. I guess our t-storms don't help.

Gazania, I have basically the same camera (an FZ5, the previous year's model), so I'm sure it would work with yours. But Raynox has a lens compatibility chart, so you might take a look.

I'd rather have my gums scraped then paint...but the finished project sure makes me feel good!!
