My Aunt Babe driving something fancy. (Can anyone ID it?) The license plate reads OHIO 1934. Her mother, my grandmother ("Lucky"), is in the backseat. I wish I could identify the girl in front. She appears in a lot of pictures with Babe and her family. Babe's husband was older.....I wonder if she could be his daughter from an earlier marriage.

A Dresden plate quilt that I finished last year. I did the piecing but hired someone to do the quilting for me.

Casey,,That German Coast Guard Vessel leaving Newfoundland may be on a turn around. Numerous counties including the U.S. conduct continual iceburg patrols across the North Atlantic.

Now, while you caught a German Coast Guard Vessel in Newfoundland, how about the U.S. Coast Guard serving aboard a German Vessel at the USCG Academy, in New London, Connecticutt?

Although the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter "Eagle" is officially the tall ship currently in commission and used as a training vessel by the USCG, she is in fact a German training ship that was captured by the Coast Guard during WWI.

I have been aboard the Eagle and one thing that really caught my eye is many of the compartments or items on board still have the original name plates written in German.

I say Nita's photo is somewhere in the Pacific Northwest, perhaps Washington state.

Yes, I have the healthiest aloe vera I've ever seen. It's about 20 years old and every so often the gardener forgets it's a favorite of mine and whacks it down to about nothing. I cry for days and then remember that it bounces back in no time and stop. :-)

Thanks for the info lazypup. Believe it or not that tall ship you photographed was also here in Newfoundland! It was here in May 2005, here is one of many pictures I took of it.
