A private message is just an email. The recipient gets it as a regular email with whatever email service is registered with Gardenweb. Some people do not allow emails, tho.

Bebet, to add your e-mail address to your profile (or whatever it's called), go to the upper left-hand corner and click on "Return to the Kitchen Table Forum".

Then go down to the bottom of the page and click on "Member Services". There you can add your e-mail address so when people click on your name when you post, it will show up and they can e-mail you personally. When I e-mail someone here, I always put "From Patti43 at KT" so they will know it isn't spam. You can add whatever other information you want, also.

I hope this is clear. I have a terrible time with the computer myself!

I got your email in reply to my public post here on the forum, but I choose to have very little private interaction with forum members. What I wish to say, I will say publicly.

One thing I will say publicly is you need to stop apologizing for existing. In a three sentence email, you managed to say "sorry" four times.

Nothing you said "offended" me - I was just trying to boost you into taking some action to help yourself. As with all public forums, you can take the advice or not. Especially on this forum, no one is trying to bully you.

I still stand by what I said, though. This forum and its members can encourage you, but only you can change your life.

I personally think living with someone who won't allow you to drive, controls all the money, complains over $10 spent on feminine hygiene - that's abusive. That was my point in the first thread. I stand by it. I would never allow anyone to treat me that way.

Bebet, please be very cautious about whom you e-mail with. This is basically a public forum, and while Kitchen Table members are the majority wonderful people, you never know who is lurking or who might e-mail you. As someone previously said, DO NOT share any personal information like your address, phone, etc. You really need the help of professional people, not exchanging e-mails with someone you really don't know. You have eased some of your anxiety by sharing here, but you really need the help of people trained to assist in cases such as yours.

Google also will store information so be careful of the names you use and any personal stuff you don't want public.
Computers do have their disadvantages.
