Yes,that could keep one REALLY busy!LOL Precious little ones.Don't they just turn your heart to jello! I love those earrings in that baby girl's ears.I know there's a lot of controvercy about piercing their ears that young but I think they are so cute.Wish DDIL would have done Jillians but she said not until she's old enough to want it herself.I saw the cutest little ladybug earrings on craigslist today that would be so cute.They were teeny tiny and had the screw on backs.Anyway,keep enjoying those little ones.

Brad, I am doing wintersowing too this year, especially after your encouragement over the summer! I joined the GW Winterswap and was thrilled with all the booty (seeds) that came my way. The seeds I sowed include Swamp Milkweed, Purple Milkweed, ButterflyWeed, Vernonia (Ironweed), Oxe-eye Sunflower, Delphiniums, Anise Hyssop, Rose Mallow (Hibiscus) and other bee/butterfly favorites. Here is the result of my labors: But there is plenty else to keep me busy spring, summer, fall, and winter. Namely: And with the warmth of last week I impulsively placed an order from Joni: Although this picture really doesn't do them justice. They are (tallest in back) aff. fischeriana, and (left to right) bicknellii, fitchii, and dischorensis. Oh, and here are some blooms brightening up my home this winter: This plumeria spent all summer outdoors, but decided to bloom during the short winter days. It's been blooming nonstop since November!

Columbusguy, we found a warehouse locally that had the same thickness, but 3/4 inch narrower in stock. The difference is barely noticeable since the porch swing is hung right where the transition takes place. Since I am seriously cash-strapped, I wanted to stay in a budget. The original boards were 1 x 5 pine and were just beautiful, but would not be in my budget even if I could find replacements. The brown floor paint is SW Oil-Based Enamel (I love that stuff) and it is slightly bronzy-greenish. All of the photos look way more green than it really is. It is a color I mixed up at home and had matched. SW's browns are a bit disappointing and I am a little "over-particular" about brown, so when I need a brown paint I mix my own. (ok, really, i am totally OCD about color, but I love the brown of the porch floor) The blinds were $20 each at Lowes. They won't trim these for you (only the expensive interior blinds can be trimmed) so buy them longer than you need and cut them yourself. I simply unrolled them on the lawn, made my measurements (take a bit off both sides to ensure the pulleys at the top are still centered) and used tin snips to cut the plastic slats. I used an old hacksaw to cut through the heavy plastic header and footers. Hint: the footer slides, so slip it back and forth to give you more room to cut the slats, then slide it all the way over and just cut off one end to size, rather than both ends. Worthy, I did a good deal of research on painting the floor and found some pretty convincing arguments for painting only one side. The area below is unconditioned basement. It is not exposed to the elements. I'll let you know if I screwed up.

Good to hear from you Maryliz....wow you have been busy...I took a fabric dying class and it was a lot of fun...not something I want to do much of in my house. I am going to visit a lady for a class on painting on fabric and then you put it in the sun to set the colors...maybe then I can decide what I want to invest my money in, paint or dyes. Wonderful you are moving your sewing out of the basement to your very own space....you will love it...don't forget to include good lighting in your new room...aren't hubbys wonderful when it comes to our hobby. This summer is pretty quiet for us...last year we painted the house, garage, fences...15 gal. of paint and my shoulder still complains. We also had quite a bit of company and I did get to the Moose Jaw Quilt Show in April...so I guess I will enjoy seeing pictures and writeups on trips others take this year. I have dragged out a quilt that I started quilting in 2003 by machine....gave up because it was too heavy....couldn't get the stitching out so now I am hand quilting what is left. This was a block exchange my guild did so I treasure it. Looking back I sure have learned a lot...my borders are terrible...I did diamonds on the sides and they didn't work out even...I am chuckling as it is almost ugly. Don't put anything off! DH and I used to let the kids trash their bedrooms and then we'd b*tch and moan but not really make them do much of anything. A week before school started, I deep cleaned their bedrooms. Threw out everything that was broken or really old. I organized everything---bought them some extra plastic stacking storage bins for the closets, etc. NOW---religiously---every night they are expected to clean up and put everything away. DH and I have been really good about not letting them say "oh, can't I do it tomorrow?" We don't care if they make a big mess when playing but we just remind them that whatever is taken out HAS to be put away that night before bed. I do the same for myself! I do not let dirty dishes sit in the sink overnight. Sometimes after dinner, I just don't feel like doing them, so I will stack them in the sink. But come 9-10 pm I make sure to thouroughly clean up the ktichen---load the dishwasher, run it, wipe down the stove, counters, etc. I just FEEL better when it's clean when I go to bed---and wake up, of course! The other thing I struggle with is laundry---namely, folding it and putting it away. I am TERRIBLE about leaving the clothes in the dryer and just getting them out of there as I need them. What I've done in the last few months is to sort/fold them on the couch while watching tv with DH. Then I have a distraction while I sort and fold, which helps immensely. I make different piles--ie, my closet, DH's t-shirt drawer, DD's room, SS's room, etc. We have all hardwood floors and I notice I really need to sweep every other day. Frankly, every day would probably be better. Stuff gets tracked in, the kids have sand in their shoes from the playground, etc. I try to sweep at least every other day. It is hard! I feel your pain. I am always amazed at how the house can from looking GREAT to a disaster zone in a matter of hours! It's frustrating!

You have extremely good reasons for having been so busy!! Gosh, I can't believe how big they all are, including the baby. She's really growing! Thanks for posting the photos -- we've been missing you... and them!

Thank you! Ricky is going to be in the second grade in the fall. He loves school... He is reading a few grades above his level, we're so proud of him! He was in the beginning of this school year struggling with his reading... Something clicked and now he's doing great and loves to read!
Seth as you can see is a huge Michael Jackson fan! Ever since his death and all the tv media coverage he had been singing and dancing as Michael Jackson! He has no idea that Michael is no longer with us!! He is seriously obsessed! Today will be a great day for Seth with all the media stuff again! LOL!
