For my 55th class reunion, Friday.

Starts at 5, supposed to end at 11.

Former boyfriend is coming in from Madrid..

Friend and I are arriving at motel, at 3:30, so we'll dress and who knows!!!!!!

Hi all! I haven't been over to this side in a while and didn't realize this post had become active again. YES, the project is underway. We are wrapping up the presowing activities and will get the seeds into the containers next week. Thanks so much for your encouragement and ideas for subject integration. So far we have taken all of the containers and measured cicumference of the 2-liters. One of my standards is for students to realize the relationship between circumference and diameter (pi). They figured it out for themselves by measuring a variety of containers and seeing how many times the diameter fit into the circumference. We compared class data and they all realized that no matter the size of the container, the relationship was the same. Now, don't you think the kids are going to remember this much better than pen and pencil? Hands-on and driven by natural student interest at the same time - take that NCLB! Although I only teach the math, the science teacher is teaching about endangered plants and animals and they are planting the endangered coneflower. The language teacher will also be integrating the unit. For math, the students will measure and record data on a line graph (another standard). The kids are very excited about it. We are going to plant some annuals for quicker bloom, too. I've already started taking pictures and will have some to share soon. Again, Thanks for the support! Nikki

I really don't want to be a whiner! I went out to mine 3 times today just to see WHAT was getting done. To GC's credit, he's busting his hump finishing all HIS stuff. The marble guy was there all day long and all he got done was the tub surround. Not sure if he OD'd on turkey, or what, but he's moving a little slow. Okay, so kel, on the bright side, I think I mentioned this before--we must believe that WHEN all the subs do as they should, that things will happen very quickly. Honestly, if you think about it, most subs like plumbers, electricians, really only need a few days to do their thing. SO, if all the stars align and the planets are in their houses...OR WHATEVER!!!!!!!! HAHA! I told DH I think the thing that really upsets me is I don't like being lied to. I don't appreciate subs making up excuses for why they didn't do their job when they were supposed to do it. If you ain't coming, just say, "I ain't coming". Don't make up some lame excuse why! UGH. I also have slowly, but surely, figured out that if a sub should be at your house and he's not, he sure enough isn't going to answer the phone! My build really has been okay up until now. I have found the whole process pretty gratifying, actually. But now that we're down to the wire, we just don't have the luxury of take our sweet time to do things and I'm exhausted. Living in chaos is such a drain and I'm ready for things to calm down and get back to boring ol' family life! I will say a prayer for all of us and hopefully sleep tonight, knowing that tomorrow is another day...full of promises.

Rosemary, you need to be on Internet Explorer and then download Smiley Central to your toolbar. When I went to my 40th reunion in 2010, I was surprised to see a guy I had a huge crush on in high school. My "Duane" had thick black curly hair and an athlete's physique. This guy "Dewey" was fat and bald. But we had a nice chat and wished each other well. I'd been too shy to speak to him back in high school. Funny how things work out.

You're gonna love it! Honest!! It's so much fun to meet with friends you grew up with. It's amazing how the years slip away and you're all chatting and laughing just like you did years ago.

The best part is there are no more cliques. In every school, kids tend to fall into groups that hang out together. Well, those days are gone and everyone is on an equal playing field. For some, it's a lot better than the actual school experience.

Come to find out, there is a HUGE school reunion on Saturday night, big numbers coming for that one, called Golden Tigers, from all graduating classes. Too big for me.

I'll stick to the one tonight and enjoy!

At one of my reunions, a guy I had gone all the way through school with and who was bald and had a big belly said to me "You sure have put on weight since high school". I knew he meant it as a compliment because I was skinny in school and at that time I was a perfect weight. But still I was speechless.

I meant friend, is gal friend, is who I am sharing a motel room with, NOT former boyfriend, if that is what ruthie is referring to.

Friend lost her husband two years ago, and it's her first since he died.
