Bought my son the Wii active personal trainer for Fathers day. Hope he likes it.

My sister who is 57 and very over weight, has one and she really likes it and has been using it regularily. She must have had it for at least 6 weeks and she has no change in weight, but she feels so great after her session.

I was intending to get over there to try it out, but I know I just am not into exercizing.

We have it, and use it.
I like it...supplements trips to the gym when we're busy.

Get one! I don't have one but have played at my sister's and a good friend's houses - it is a blast and it will not be too hard for you. You can improvise until you've worked up to it - seriously, it is so much fun. Also, I just saw a piece on the Today show the other day how they're using it in a nursing home somewhere, all of those elderly people were using it and having bowling tourneys etc, they were having a ball w/ it, not to mention the benefits of getting active. DO IT! I bet you'll love it. IMO, Ages 5-20 on the box was a huge marketing blunder.

My daughter has one and likes it. She's 30 so somewhere over 5-20 and below our age :-)

I'm 47 and have been using it for more than 6 months. I like it a lot. Eventually I'll get the Active Trainer Glenda mentioned too.

Wii Fit vs. Wii Active?

it's worth thousands more actually, well to us! BUT there is a new Wii Fit Board coming out in Dec for christmas, i will be pre-ordering that soon. i have EVERY single fitness game for Wii, along w/ a bunch of other games too. my all time fav thou is the new EA Sports Active (this game was done right here in orlando). i have 4 days left and i complete my first 30 day challenge. that is the longest i have ever committed to exercise in yrs and i own 2 professional lifefitness gym pieces of equipment. the EA Active game is what i think everyone wants from the Fit. it is most like having a personal trainer w/ you and you can use Active w/ or w/o the fit board. my next fav is My Fitness Coach (also like a personal trainer), my DH's next fav is Golds Gym Cardio Boxing (he loves Active too) and the least liked game is Jillian Michaels game it is not as slick or easy to use.

these games can be set for your fitness level and believe me they can be as challenging or as easy as you want them to be. i have lost several lbs on the EA Active but i have gained alot of muscle. my DH has lost alot of weight just on the boxing on the fit and golds gym boxing. we are not gaming people but wii is not about sitting on the couch playing games. we also like the tennis games, Endless Oceans is awesome (diving) and Mario Cart. we love our wii, can you tell lol? ~ liz

My mom and dad got my family and my sisters family a Wii two years ago for Christmas. The following week they got one and so did my grandparents. This last Christmas they got everyone the Wii fit. Then about a week ago I bought the Wii Active. I love the Wii Active, it's more challenging.

My parents and grandparents get together on Saturday nights, fix appetizers and have bowling competitions. It's hilarious. My parents are in their mid-50 and my grandparents are in their late 70's. It's great!

I got bored within the first month with Wii Fit as did my DH...it's alot of fun but very repetitive after not too long. It is fun to compete for higher scores with yourself or partner. I have the EA Sports Active, but continue to read the good and bad reviews before I decide to open the package or take it back within my the 30 days receipt. No returns once opened.

I didn't care for My Fitness Coach, but in all fairness should give it another try. The warm up were not good, you can't delete certain exercises (lunges for bad knees not recommended), and it's repetitive.

If you decide to get the sports active, make sure you read the reviews on Amazon to know the PROS CONS about this package and there ARE a few big CONS. They are coming out with a new Active in December that works with the present one (from what I read). Suppose to have core exercises, skating, step aerobics (which I want), and alot more. We'll see.

I do enjoy the boxing in the Fit & Wii Play as it gets your heart rate up in no time and tires you out, though they need to do something about the cord on the numchucks because it keeps slapping me in the face - a complaint of many also with EA Active.

Note to others: If you want to ramp up your step aerobics on the Fit, place the balance board on another stepper or board of some kind (I use one of the old step platforms from Jane Fonda's workout back in the day), though you can buy the risers from Amazon or elsewhere.

Gave DS, GS and family a Wii for Christmas, which the Wii active bundle came with it. Found out they used it a lot, but now don't use it that much.

Thinking of my son, 43, he will get more use out of the personal trainer cause it's geared for adults.

I'm 59 (gulp). I love the Wii Fit.

I actually think I get a better workout using the EA Active for Wii. The trainer kicks my butt. (I'm on day 22 of the 30 day challenge.) I have purchased a tighter workout band because the one that comes with Active is too easy.

Wow, this is interesting information. I bought the Wii Fit today, and I'm just reading the instruction booklet. I'm real excited to get it set up.
That's a great idea to get friends, and/or family, into it, with bowling, etc. Should be fun.
