Have You Ever Made Sandwiches using..........?

Have you ever made sandwiches using cooked pork? I don't mean barbecue. Make sandwiches with cooked pork and adding things to it like you would for chicken salad or ham salad? It is very hard to know it is pork, pretty much tastes like chicken salad. If you have would you care to share your recipes?

No, but I remember buying them in high school at lunch. Tasted like a chicken salad sandwich, but it was pork.

I have not made mine into a pork salad, but I like it on bread, with mayo, tomato, onion, lettuce, salt, pepper and bread and butter pickles.

If they are uncarved and do not have soft squishy spots, mould, nor mildew, they should be fine to eat. You could cut the pumpkins in half and seed, then cut into wedges (like you would squash) and roast until soft. Scoop the flesh from the skins, then PUREE it. Strain the puree before using. I am sorry, the mere thought of a pumpkin string in that custard pie makes me want to hurl. Dances - whose dancing bunny is at home and whose well-meaning grandmother would make pies with stringy jack-o-lanterns.....like eating a pumpkin hairball if you ask me.

Tried the mini donut maker, similar concept, but with no stick. We tried a regular cake mix and used less liquid than called for, almost like batter for thick pancakes. Worked well they were uniform in size when we used a large tablespoon to fill each cavity. Yesterday we tried a chewy brownie mix, and found it just a bit too thick and had to add a tablespoon of liquid. Came out well. Dipped them in cream cheese icing just as they were cooling off. Strange that they do not put any kind of instructions in the boxes from the manufacturer. It would help. Each time I have used it I only make a batch, in my case 7, and store the rest in a tupperware container in the fridge. Quick dessert or snack when you want one NOW. I wonder if you froze your pops for a few minutes maybe ten to fifteen, before adding sticks that they might grab on better, and would be easier to dip or put toppings on them? ps chocolate seems to burn fast so keep an eye on it when cooking in those little machines.

Well dang! I thought I had gotten it off Facebook or Pinterest but I can't find it and I'm not at home. I can add the recipe later. It's mashed sweet potatoes, white cornmeal mix, pumpkin pie spice (which I don't like so I used cinnamon), eggs, butter, a little sugar. I think that was all. It was really good.

We love pork sandwiches. Sometimes I just slice roast pork thinly and add a bit of mustard on whole wheat bread. Very tasty. And fixed like chicken salad is good too. DH and I both love pork.

I haven't made the kind of pork sandwiches you describe, but my husband used to like to just put a fried pork chop on bread for a sandwich.

Thanks to heads up from Carol CA, Kalua pork.
It is awesome. I made it twice in one week, for myself and a friend. Adding a banana unpeeled to the cooking. Fantastic.

I've made a sandwich by wrapping a slice of bread around a piece of cold, leftover chicken. Just nibble away and don't bite the bone.

I slice left over pork tenderloin and put it on sandwiches with mayo, etc. I've never had it cubed to resembled or taste like chicken, though. What piece of pork are you using?

I would use a boneless loin. Probably some other cuts would work as well. I have two great big pieces in my freezer. The next time I cook some I will keep a bit out and make some up for the family to have. I will cook them in my crockpot.

I don't care for salad sandwiches except for tuna or egg salad so no I don't.

But I'm with Glenda on the pulled pork or Kalua if you prefer. Boston butt is what I use. The fat is cooked out and you are left with mouth watering tender meat. I don't mix in BBQ sauce. I make my pulled pork sandwiches naked with a drizzle of BBQ sauce on them and a scoop of coleslaw on top. All between a crusty buttered and toasted roll.
